Book of Beast 38 : Heavenly Soul

                      In a forest of icicles and white snow. Lonely silence reigns , forlorn wind pervades every part of the gray and white land . It is an image of stillness as if untouched with time.
                       The solemn silence suddenly shattered by a crunching of snow . Small light steps but it still breaks the eerie silence. Then a small murmuring voice ask himself.
                      "Haishh! Where's that little bro?, He's not in the lake, but it is this way where he came from the first time we met..." Brows slightly wrinkled , little Song Xi stop from walking and look to the endless coldness around him. He's been walking for couple of hours looking for the little bro he met last time. But he got no luck finding him. He didn't saw any houses or any person while walking in this path.
                      Our Protagonist float beside the young boy like a ghost while fiddling with his fan in his boredom. He's been here for a while now, still stuck and didn't know how to come back to the present.
                      In front of them are enumerable trees covered in snow ,the farther he look, the dimmer the atmosphere . Occasionally, there are some sounds coming from different beasts roaming around the forest. Above him, he can see  three eyed crows flying around, as if spying at the little boy, ready to dive down for a munch anytime he loosen his guard.
                    " This bird will be a lame barbeque , all feathers and all bones" Our protagonist languidly said. Not caring about the beasts.
                     "Hmph! Dare try fly low near me , you'll be a roasted bird in a flash" , little Song Xi  said to the crow that answered by hastily  flapping wings of fleeing crow, as if afraid when they heard him talk to them ." Maybe I'll go back for now, seems like luck is not on my side today"
                      He is about to turn around when suddenly something  caught his attention. There is a faint smell in the air .  A sweet aroma that makes his stomach announce its presence! His eyes turned lively at the smell of it!
                     Maybe I'll came back later. I need to check this out first. His curiosity kicks in in a flash!, His feet started walking to where the smell is coming from before he even decided to see what he is smelling.
                   This smell is too fragrant that it wakening his craving for food especially to a person like him who only started practicing Enedia. Just when does he last eaten  real  food? Two or three days ago? His mother is keen on guiding his cultivation! So the moment he started to absorbed energy , She immediately order him to stopped eating food everyday and focus on  absorbing energies and cultivate for him to not get hungry! For a growing child like him, curving his hunger is too difficult ,Especially in times like this.
                    "Oi, what if that's a trap?" Song Xi close his fan with a snap. " Ridiculous! How can you be led by a mere food?! But still followed the little boy. What's with this kid nose? Are you a dog? Quit sniffing around!
                    After walking for a a while,  the two  saw a cave near a cliff. Some traces of smoke are  still  in the air and the sweet aroma of spices assault little Song Xi's senses.
                   "Found you"  his bright eyes just gets livelier with the salivating smell, but stop himself, Wait, he didn't know  what's inside, better be safe than sorry.  He take out a talisman inside his pouch and activate it instantly. It is a concealment talisman.
                After activating the talisman , he found out his body become transparent, almost like a ghost! He almost puke blood in irritation.
               What a fraud! Concealment talisman? More like ghostly apparition talisman! To think that slit eyed monkey dares sell this substandard thing to me!? Tsk!
                I am already here! Hah! I already looked like a ghost!,  Then I'll just pretend to be one!
With renewed determination,  little Song Xi carefully walk towards the  poorly lit cave. One ghost and one pretending to be one, side by side enter the cave.  Once inside, he felt much warmer . Looking around, he notice that  the cave is quiet small . With low ceilings and some plants even growing inside.
              Deep inside the cave, he saw the  back of a person in front  of the fire  ,burning some logs with a pan settled above it. He can hear some sizzling sound coming from the pan and that concentrated heavenly smell he is smelling for a while now. Beside it is a fairly big carcass of a deer ,already cleaned and chop on some parts.With a gulp , he walk softly nearer. But some questions appears in his mind.
             How is this person cooking in the dark? Hmm ,  He had some suspicion . Then he look closely at the back of the person . Little built, smaller than him. Thinner than him and has a something like dangling at the back of his hair.
              Oh? You actually found him. Our Protagonist curiously float near the little boy who is busy on whatever he is cooking.
             Hahahhaha! Luck is still on my side! This is lil' bro! Ahahahaaa. Young Song Xi almost laugh out loud when he realized who the person in front of him. Grinning to himself, he walk towards his lil bro.
            "Leave!" Without looking back, the kid stiffened  and shout  that echoed loudly around the cave. Obviously, the talisman he used didn't hinder this person to sense his presence.
            " Don't want~"  little Song Xi answered playfully. Not even stopping his steps.
             "Tsk! Just leave!" The little kid stand but didn't look at him. His hands fisting on his robes. With just that voice, He  already recognize the intruder!
           "Ah, maybe ....No, Hahaha ! Don't wanna~" Young Song Xi enjoyed himself by teasing this lil bro! His steps are almost skipping.
           "You! , Don't come near me! I am warning you!" The little kid said loudly while stepping back until his back touch the end of the cave!
           "Yes ! Yes! Thanks for the warning" he grinned at him and sit where this lil bro sitting a while ago. And with a swipe of a finger , he already take two meat that is skewered in thin sticks that's already cooked  in the fire. "Ah, this smells heavenly lil bro!"
           " Shameless! How dare you!, Just leave already!" Jeez!, This kid's voice is trembling while looking on the ground. One of his hand is holding on to the ribbon covering around his eyes.
          "Lil' Bro! Are you planning to eat this whole deer alone? Isn't it much better sharing it with your friends?"
          The little kid crunch his brows when he heard him.
          "We're not friends! Leave immediately!"
          "Huh? Say that again? We're friend so it's ok to stay? Good!" With a wide smile , little Song Xi bite the still hot and  juicy barbeque in his hand. " What are you still doing there? Come here! Come here, What do you like?" , The proceed on acting as the host. Even Song Xi floating on the side covers his face with his fan in embarrassment.
            " What are you even doing ,lil bro? If you want to help, just help. What with this shameless act?this brat! "
              "You-! You! " As if lost for words,   the little kid can't even follow up his sentence. In frustration, he suddenly punch the stone wall in his side that make a loud booming sound echoed around them! Half the cave is blown away with just one punch! The next thing little Song Xi saw is the little kid make a run for it using the hole he made from punching the wall. He ran so fast there is no chance to catch up to him!
              "Eh! He really run away!? " Astounded! Little Song Xi stare at the hole where the little kid run. " His body cultivation is really amazing! With just one punch and boom! " , Looking around ,he sigh while eating another stick of barbeque.
             " Hai !, You think I will stop just because you escape this time? Hurhurhur!" And take another bite of the juicy barbeque, " Hmm! This so good!"
                While eating, he glance at some  floating things near the broken wall , they are motes of light that exuding black and gray light , eerie and suffocating. Such unwelcoming sight.  Only few of this lingers after that lil bro left the small cave. Some even try to come near him.
           "Shoo!shoo! Shoo! , Don't even try to switch your target on me" , those little light fly farther from him when his hand almost smack them away. Then eventually leave after a few moments of lingering. They fly in to the direction where his lil bro go.
              After eating a dozen of that heavenly food. Little Song Xi carefully  covers the rest and left a little pouch filled with useful things beside it as payment . Of course! I will pay! I am not the kind to just eat and run no?
