J.

I make my way to History class, my eyes darting to Lisa, her eyes glued to the map on the board on the far end of the class. I remember my first day of classes here, wondering what the hell a map is doing in a classroom reserved specifically for  History but had soon realized that it was a museum map. It had surprised me, of course, seeing pinpoints of the greatest museums around the world laid out on a map in the fashion that I would never expect. Lisa's jawline is set tight, or maybe it's just unrealistically chiseled as I feel my mouth go dry. I tell myself mentally to drink more water during lunch break next time.

Her head snaps in my direction and she visibly narrows her eyes a little, crushing all my plans of taking a seat in class next to her. Gosh, these are the times I curse the fact that Rosé only has one class with me. Maybe I should have made more friends in the beginning but knowing me, that's a losing battle.

Lisa's head dips beside her, as she stares expectantly at me, my eyebrows furrowing in confusion. She's asking me to sit beside her or...? Her head jerks harder this time, her eyes narrowing angrily as my legs spring to action and I sit beside her, probably a little ungracefully.

"Damn, you can't take a hint, can you?" Lisa says with a bite as I wince.

"Well, maybe no one's ever given me a hint." I say and the bitterness comes out a little harsher than expected.

There's a pregnant silence.

"You don't have friends here?" Lisa asks, her tone softening and I can't help but look at her.

Her grey eyes are a cloudy, calm assurance.

I shrug, conveying to her that I don't care. I don't. At least not much. I can only see her staring at me from my peripheral.

"We're friends." Lisa says as I let the words soak through me. My very being.

"We are." I say genuinely, our eyes meeting to speak whispered words we can't hear to each other.

Lisa grins, her pearly whites on full display. It's so dazzling, I can't help but stare at her mouth. That's what I tell myself, at least.

"What are you thinking?" Lisa asks, studying me, as if trying hard to figure something out.

"Your canines are kind of sharp." I say, as Lisa's smile disappears and she tilts her head, still studying me, but with a new intensity.

"I got them chipped last year." Lisa says with a heaviness to her voice although the words just convey a filler information.

"The vampire look, huh?" I ask teasingly as she shakes her head, smiling again but with her teeth hidden.

Her jawline moves and she gulps as I stare, much to my own annoyance. This really shouldn't be happening. Her eyes meet mine again as I admire, against my own will, how beautiful they are. A dark, stormy colour yet also so dreamy. I envy the colour a little, but for the most part I'm swooning. And that's stupid.

I quickly look away, suddenly noticing how full the class is with people now, contrasting when I had just taken a seat beside Lisa.

"Hey! Is this seat taken?" Seulgi, or so I remember her as from hearing of her last year asks, the question directed towards Lisa, but she also looks at me.

She smiles a small greeting to me as I reciprocate and her eyes bear into Lisa's, the latter staring up at her hard. I had assumed they would know each other by now, given the friendly interaction she had with the Pinks in our school cafeteria. I had not seen the incident, somehow, and almost thought everyone was making a mountain out of a molehill, suspecting even the faint existence of that molehill.

"Not that I know of, no." Lisa says, her voice strained as I try to remember a time where Lisa was so short-tempered. I don't remember her being this irritable but then it could be my own memories slipping.

"Alright. Thank you, then." Seulgi says cheerfully, taking a seat beside Lisa as she straightens. Does the girl make her that uncomfortable? If anything she's harmless.

As the attendance check rolls at the end of class, Lisa suddenly grows agitated.

"You're Seulgi?" She murmurs but her voice is festering a weird rage.

"Yes, Lisa. Are you ready to talk abo-"

Lisa cuts her off dramatically, "No, I am not, thank you. For the record I told you all to stay the fuck away from me." She bites out rudely and I stop a wince of my reactive body. I've never heard or seen her be this angry. Although I don't want to judge, I can't help but diagnose her having anger issues, but only in my head.

"You aren't in the right state of mind, apparently. Come find us when you want to talk. And please be quick." Seulgi states firmly, leaving the classroom without another glance.

Lisa snaps her eyes towards me as I put on my best poker face as to enact that I have seen or heard nothing. She says nothing, her eyes staying trained on me so I look at her, as any normal person would.

"What?" I ask, still keeping my act going.

"What are you thinking?" She asks, as I frown confusedly. What's with her obsession of trying to know what I'm thinking? Isn't that a little too invasive?

"I don't know, honestly. But I've been thinking about taking a trip to the woods." I say as she narrows her eyes at me.

"Are you joking?" She asks as I shrug, genuinely confused.

"No? I actually want to visit the woods."

Her face relaxes. "Woods where?"

"Here. There's...so many woods here, but I've only been to the one a few kilometres away from here. Did you just move into Delmonde?" I ask as Lisa nods in understanding, and probably to answer my question towards the end.

a/n: I don't think Delmonde is a real place and it doesn't matter. I'll be using names of places that don't exist, for the most part.
