Slender trees dotted the vast plains, their leaves gently rustling in the breeze. As Oliver dozed on the branches of one of the trees, the sound of the wind crunching through the leaves lulled him into a tranquil slumber. Suddenly, the wind blew loud, and the branches beneath Oliver swayed and creaked.
Oliver slowly opened his eyes and looked up through the gaps in the tree branches. Dark grey clouds loomed above him. He then saw dazzling orange sunrays spreading across the sky among dull clouds.
Oliver sprang to his feet and scrambled onto a nearby branch. From his perch, he stared at the ground below, taking in the sight before him. After a moment, he drew a long, deep breath. Then, he launched himself from the branch, hurtling towards the earth and landing unharmed.
Glancing in every direction, all Oliver can see is a sea of grass stretching into the horizon. He sighs and walks forward, looking left and right but seeing nothing. Then, he hears the rumbling sound of crashing waves behind him. Oliver swiftly turns on his back.
Oliver saw the gigantic lake he had seen before, its waters covering the entire horizon. He gazed at its gentle blue water. He then felt his throat and tongue grow dry, forcing him to sprint towards the lake.
As he reached the lake, Oliver immediately knelt and scooped some water into his hands. He filled his palms again and drank deeply, quenching his thirst. Suddenly, he felt droplets of water entering his windpipe, causing him to cough loudly. Gasping for breath, he stood up and scanned the surroundings.
"Okay, where's the way back to the city?" Oliver asked himself as his head wandered. Then, his eyes widened as he had a sudden realization. "Oh... Cal." He furrowed his brow. "So, where should I go now, Oliver?" Oliver paused and shook his head. "Wait, now I'm talking to myself? Dang it!"
Facing the eastern horizon, Oliver glimpsed at the sun's glow from afar. As the sun rose, its orange rays stretched across the sky, signalling the arrival of a new day. But, as time flew, clouds began to form and obscure the sunlight.
Oliver slowly takes a deep breath. Then, he exhales through his mouth loudly. Slowly, he glanced at his palms covered in rust.
"Give me a break, world..." Oliver muttered as he sniffed back tears. He then looked up at the sky and let out a deep sigh. "I..." he cried.
Taking a deep breath, Oliver turned away from the lake and gazed at the neverending horizon of grassland. Fighting back his tears, he stomped on the ground in frustration. Unable to hold back his sadness any longer, his tears overflowed from his eyes. His emotions overwhelmed him, and he hugged himself tightly as his knees buckled, collapsing on the fertile land.
Slowly, the dark grey clouds covered the sky, obscuring the sunrise from view. It was as if night had fallen once more. Then, rain began to fall, followed by the distant roll of rumbling thunder, showering the Remaining Podeshire with sorrow.
Oliver clenched his teeth and his fist. His eyebrows furrow, and his face crease in frustration. Groaning, he stands up and glares at the rainy sky.
"I said give me a bloody break!!" Oliver yelled.
Shouting, Oliver raised his arm and pointed his hand at the sky. Unexpectedly, the rain stopped falling as if in response to his command. He then took a deep breath and looked down at his palms.
