Katie Wolfe sang to herself as her maid Thearsa plaited her hair.
"You have a beautiful voice ma'am." Thearsa told her. When she got no reply she sighed. "It's a shame you don't use it more. You'll be needing to once you become prince Eric's wife ma'am."
Katie stood once her hair was finished and walked to her mirror.
"Oh but Thearsa, I don't wish to marry prince Eric!"
"Who is it you wish to marry ma'am?"
Katie whirled around and strode to her bookcase. "I don't wish to marry anyone at all. I want to travel the world and do great things!"
Thearsa laughed and she pulled Katie away from the bookshelf. "You must marry ma'am, after all it is your eighteenth birthday, and you are the eldest princess."
"Why does it matter that I marry?"
"There are no male heirs ma'am and the Kingdom need a king. When you marry prince Eric he will become the new king of Draekon."
Katie looked wistfully out her bedroom window. "I see.."
