"Darling are you really willing to give up your life as a queen because you want to have a fling with some peasant boy!?" Her mothers voice was rising quickly.

"Mother! He is not a peasant i can assure you. He was at the ball last night." Katie knew that only the royals and nobles could attend her birthday celebration. "It is not a - A fling!"

"Oh so you only met him last night then?" Her mothers voice dropped back to normal and she thought for a moment. "Was this the young man you were dancing with?"

Katie blushed. "Yes it is."

Her mother suddenly smiled and said "I will make a deal with you. I will invite prince Eric to dinner tomorrow night and you may invite-" She stopped for a moment. "What did you say his name was again?"

Katie hesitated. " I...dont know."

"Well you may invite the young man to dinner tomorrow as well and we will see how things turn out." Her mother smiled at her again. "Now off you go darling, i have plans to make."

The doorman led Katie out of the room.
