„And you really don't wanna eat anything?" Lucia put on her shoes. "No mum. I don't. Can you please just be quiet? I'm tired and i don't want to hear anyone talking right now."
Her mum sighed. "Sorry honey. Have a great day."

She entered the classroom with sleepy eyes. Olivia and Cynthia immediately came to the front of the classroom. "Oh my god, look at you." Cynthia put her hands around Lucia's face. "How are you gonna impress someone with that look."
Oh right. She completely forgot about that. The Bet.

Lucia looked over Cynthia's shoulder. There he was. Henry.
He sat in the corner. His brown, straight hair covered his forehead. He had black glasses on and dark eyebrows. She followed his dark brown, almost black eyes. He was reading a book.
Ugh, how boring.
Then she took a look at the boy a few seats in front of him.
Noah.
Black curly hair, with blue eyes and a muscular body. He was such an attractive boy. No wonder every girl had a crush on him, including Lucia.

"That's better." Cynthia was done fixing Lucia's make up and hair. "Thank you, Cynthia." She just nodded and got back to her seat, while Olivia had a lot to talk about her boy Jeremy.
As Lucia was about to get to her seat, she locked eyes with a boy. It felt like his eyes could stare into her soul. Lucia felt strange. His eyes were beautiful. She didn't even want to look away. Then he turned his head away, to his book. The book he was reading.
And then she realised it was him. Henry.
Why couldn't she turn away?
What was that weird feeling she had?
Ew.

As time passes she tries again and again. She wants to impress him with her gorgeous eyes. But he didn't even look behind him. How is he not interested? He was focused on the lesson all the time, while Lucia just couldn't focus on anything.

„And Please don't forget to read page 244 in your books and..." Lucia didn't pay attention to what her teacher was saying. She never did.
She packed her bag with all the stuff on her table and quickly fixed her lashes. She held a few books between her arms and breast. And then she waited. Waited for the moment.
Henry put his books gentle into his bag, his long, thin fingers around them. He had pale skin.
Then he got up. That's when Lucia started walking. The moment they met, she let her books drop in front of him. On his feet.
Oh no. That was not was she wanted.
Her eyes were on the books she dropped. As she looked up, she saw his emotionless face. Not one reaction. He was looking down on the books and then right at her. Not his face, neither his eyes were showing any kind of emotion. It was all resting.

He was beautiful.

Lucia got nervous. How?
She started panicking. Why doesn't he help me? Everyone else would pick them up for me!

Henry freed his feet from the books and left the classroom, without saying a single word. Lucia was shocked. While frowning, she picked up her books. How rude...

"And he did nothing?!" Olivia was washing her hands. Lucia shook her head. "I told you, he's a weirdo. It may be a little hard for you to get him to like you, but you just have to keep trying."
They were at the girls bathroom, waiting for Cynthia. "Of course i'm gonna get him. I got every guy i wanted!" Cynthia left the toilet and joined their talk. "You seem stressed already." Lucia clenched her fists in anger. She let out a long sigh. "I'm not. The beginning is always difficult. I will make him mine."

"Psst, can you give this note to him?" The classmate who was sitting next to Lucia nodded and passed the note on. They were in math class right now. The class Lucia hated the most.
This was her second try to get Henry's attention. Finally. The note arrived at the desired place. His hands.
First, he was about to pass the note on, when the boy behind him stopped his actions, to tell him the note was for him.
He looked confused. Then he turned forwards and tried to secretly open it.

Hi.
I wanted to ask you, if you would want to meet up sometime.
~L

He stared at it. For like a minute. Olivia, Cynthia and Lucia exchanged amused looks. That was so fun. Imagine him saying yes.

He gave a simple answer.

No.

What the...? Lucia bites on her lower lip, to not make a sound.
I hate him. I hate him. I hate him.

He was supposed to say yes!
He didn't even look at her. Not once.
All that was supposed to be funny.

She took a deep breath. Okay...okay. That's fine. Maybe this is going too fast.
With the note in her hand, she gets to the front of the classroom and throws it into the bin.
The classroom was silent.
His eyes were now focusing on her. On every move she made, to the front of the class, and back.
But she didn't notice. She was angry.
He wasn't. He was curious.
