"Hello", greeted Lapis as Onyx entered the Crystal Library. "Do you have any books relating to metamorphs?" He has been searching far and wide for the one book that contains vital information on his 'disease'. The grand library was a hundred feet high, overseeing the grand array of crystal structures in the vicinity. Inside contained a magnificent statue of Malekai, the god of knowledge and wisdom. Not to mention the neatly organized shelves dating back eons. "Of course, we have 5 million books- last time anyone has even bothered to count", proclaimed Lapis in an 'interesting - factoid' kind of tone.
"Well, if you're that interested, they might be over in section M, dating back to 6000 years ago by Malekai himself", she finally admitted.
"Thank you", Onyx exclaimed excitedly.
"It is my job so-" And he ran off.
After what seemed like hours, he finally found what he was looking for. 'Learning the ways of crafting gems' , by Malekai. Onyx was never the brightest gem, thank you very much. Although, he always had the interest in learning to Terraform into a new gem. All his life had been nothing but training. Now he can finally escape this life and start anew. How would the gem population react to the greatest military assassin attempting to Terraform? Only one way to find out! He opened the book- and he realized how many years this book has been left there. He read for hours upon hours. Then, as if fate has decided this- his body started to glow. He noticed that he was touching a very rare space rock- Vasenite! According to his knowledge, this rock was essential to Terraforming. What he did not know was that terraforming takes into account the number of lives you have taken and turns it into the number of years the incubation period will last. 449 kills and 1068, injured that means- 1,517 YEARS! Upon noticing the vision blurs and thin layers of crystals forming around him, Onyx realized that it was too late. Everything darkened and he slowly shrank into a gem, HIS gem- an Onyx.
