"CHILDE, HOW DARE YOU?!"
"I FUCKING DARED, (y/n)!!"
"I- okay."
You were in his room, sitting at his cherry wood desk. He had two gaming chairs, a(n) (f/c) one for the many times you streamed with him, and a blue one for him. There was a massive computer monitor and a keyboard that had keys that lit up every color. He had a PS5 and Nintendo Switch hooked up to his monitor, as well. He had multiple headsets so he could play with friends, like you. And, currently, you were playing Minecraft.
You put your controllers down, since the two of you were playing on the Switch, and leaned back.
"Why do you have to be so good at, like, everything?" you asked.
"Dunno. Why do you suck at everything?" he retorted.
"Why do you suck at life?"
"Why do you suck at life?"
"Where's my date you promised?"
You looked at Tartaglia's chat, who was suddenly interested in who your promised date was, some wondering if it was Tartaglia or someone else he had streamed with.
"What date did I promise?" he asked.
You stared at him and blinked a few times before saying, "Sir, where is my date with Xiao?"
"Oh, that date."
Again, you looked at his chat and noticed some very confused people. Although, one person seemed a bit more confused than the others.
"Uh, sorry for ignoring you, chat," Tartaglia said, turning to read people's messages. "Oh, cool, VigalanteAdeptus23, your name is Xiao, too? Just like the one I promised my friend a date with? Eh, you know her?"
"Wait, hold up!" you announced, pushing Tartaglia off of his chair, only one of his long legs being shown in the camera. "Eh, Xiao?!" you exclaimed.
(y/n)?!! VigalanteAdeptus23 typed.
"Childe," you said, turning to the boy, "I'm going home."
"S-see you," he weakly replied.
"Or never."
"Why?!"

The next Monday at school, you did everything in your power to stay away from Xiao. You even ate lunch in the library with Xingqiu and Chongyun. Even in the one class you didn't know you had with him you avoided him, especially when he tried to talk to you after class.
"Why are you so angry at Xiao?" innocent Chongyun asked you as you were walking home.
"Mhm, I would, too, like to know why you are distancing yourself from him," Xingqiu added, head facing down at the book he was reading.
You sighed. "I guess I'm a little embarrassed after Tartaglia's stream last Friday," you confessed. "You guys saw what happened, right?"
"Oh, I see now," Xingqiu said, lifting his head from his book.
"I think you should put it past you, (y/n)!" Chongyun said. "Just forget about it and keep being friends with him!"
"Ah, I don't know if we're exactly friends, Chongyun," you told him. "I'd say we're more acquaintances."
"Oh, well you should still get to be friends with him!" Chongyun's smile just then was the most precious thing you'd ever seen.
"You're too angelic," you said, looking away from the boy.
"Huh?"
"Nevermind," you sighed.
"Hey, Xiao's behind us," Xingqiu pointed out. He hadn't even looked up from his book.
"EH?!" You turned around and sure enough, there Xiao was. "Xiao, why are you following us?" you asked, forgetting you were ignoring him.
"I live this way, too?" he said since it was quite obvious. "Did you forget?"
"Oh, right, he lives right across from me," you told the two blue-haired boys on both sides of you.
Suddenly, Xingqiu looked like he had a light bulb over his head. "Chongyun," he said, tugging the male's sleeve, "We have to go this way, so we should leave them for now."
"But, it's faster to go thi-"
"Come on!"
As soon as Xingqiu and Chongyun were out of sight, Xiao spoke. "Why were you avoiding me, (y/n)? Am I not a good friend?"
"Eh?" you asked. Wasn't he watching the stream on Friday? "Um, Xiao... Aren't you a little, I don't know, creeped out by Friday? On Tartaglia's stream?"
"Hm? Oh, you mean how Tartaglia promised you a date with me?"
"Uh, yeah..."
"I don't mind. It is a better way for us to get to know each other better. After all, you said we were merely acquaintances." You turned to face a nearby tree, and Xiao's face turned slightly pink. The wind seemed in favor of you as it blew your hair perfectly, making you look cute, in Xiao's opinion. "Ah," he said, "I mean if you would like to. I don't see what we could do and if there is a time we are both available at."
You could have sworn your face turned a vivid shade of red at his comment. "O-of course, I'd like to spend time with you, Xiao! As long as it's not air hockey again!" You took a deep breath and composed yourself, smiling. The wind suddenly kicked up and you turned to face Xiao, your hair and Xiao's hair blowing all over the place. "I'm free anytime this weekend, so I'd love to go somewhere with you, Xiao!"
The amber-eyed boy smiled.
"Then it's a date."
