! final chapter alert !

"Alright, Xiao, I challenge you to an air hockey rematch!"

"Ok," Xiao said. "I'll just beat you again, though."

"NUH UH!"

Xiao rolled his eyes and reached for your hand. He intertwined his fingers with yours and led you to the arcade.

You walked off the school grounds and down the streets of the city. You passed the park where Xiao confessed earlier that night and the many places you'd gone with your friends over the years.

Eventually, you made it to the arcade.

Xiao bought both of you tokens, you protested against him paying for you, and made you made your way to the air hockey table.

"Alright, Xiao," you said, cracking your knuckles. "Prepare to be beaten."

"Yea, right."

And so, you began the first game.

It was a loss for you.

And the next one was a loss.

And the next.

And the one after that.

You played 30 games and they were all losses.

"Ready to give up?" Xiao asked you.

"No way!" you said.

You started inserting the right amount of tokens when you realized what you had were the last tokens.

"Alright, Xiao," you said, "there's no more tokens so whoever wins this wins our whole air hockey tournament!"

"We were doing a tournament....?"

"Yes, as of now."

You started the game and wished for a win against Xiao.

Xiao placed the puck on the table and gently hit it toward you.

You hit it back but Xiao blocked it from hitting his goal.

This went on for quite some time but with you (Xiao let you score) and Xiao scoring points every now and then.

Eventually, the timer on the game went down to one minute. Looking at the score, Xiao had one more point than you.

Only two points to beat him!

You continued hitting the puck back to Xiao, waiting for it to fall into his goal. You looked up for a moment and noticed Xiao silently focusing on the game.

He's so cute and why????

"Ah!"

You forgot about the game and quickly looked down. The puck was about to enter your goal but somehow you managed to hit it away and right into Xiao's goal!

The timer hit zero and you placed your mallet down on the table.

"Aw, man, we tied!" you exclaimed.

"That's ok," Xiao said, walking over to you. He placed his arm around your waist and pulled you toward him. "You did good."

He smiled, making you smile back, and brought your face up to his.

His soft lips made contact with yours as he gave you a tender kiss.
