"Colton Delaney please come to the principal's office, please? Colton Delaney to the principal's office." A loud voice came over the school's intercom. Colt's body stiffens as all eyes in his third period class turn towards him. Colt grabs his bag and slings it over his shoulder, standing up from his desk. He walks out of the classroom and down the hall to the staircase. After a few minutes, Colt sees Nyx standing outside of the main office.

"What are you doing here?" Colt asks walking up to him. He grabs onto the strings of his backpack and nervously tugs on them.

Nyx nods towards the office. "I saw out of the window police cars outside. I came to see what the hell they want with you."

"Probably just my statement. It's okay. You can go back to class."

Nyx shakes his head. "I'm not leaving until you are safely back in class."

Colt gives Nyx a stern look. "You shouldn't miss class for this."

Nyx's eyes hardened. "I said I'm not leaving." He crosses his arms over his chest as if to make a point. Colt rolls his eyes and walks past Nyx towards the office.

"Mr. Delaney, there are some officers here that would like to speak with you." Principal Myers said as Colt walks into the office.

"Gentlemen, you may use my office for as long as you need." Principal Myers leads the way to his office towards the back of the main office. One of the uniformed officers nods at the Principal with a smile.

"Thank you, Principal Myers."

"Hey Colton, how are you?" A female officer with long blonde hair worn in a braid and a kind face asks.

Colt shrugs. "I'm okay."

Her face takes on a solemn expression. She sits in Principal Myer's seat, and gestures for Colt to take a seat in front of the desk. Colt sets his bag down and sits down slowly.

"I know you have been through one hell of an ordeal. This is one of my least favorite parts of the job. I need to ask you some questions about that night."

Colt begins twiddling with his hands nervously and nods. "Can you tell me what happened leading up to the attack?"

Colt felt the blood drain from his face as he began to replay the events of that night over in his head. "Um, I had detention after school with my friend, Nyxon. After we left detention, he drove me to work and dropped me off. I worked until 11 PM, which is an hour later than I normally get off, but I went in an hour late, so I was trying to make up for the time I lost."

The cop nods her head thoughtfully. "You seem like a hard-working kid."

Colt shrugs. "I was just trying to survive."

The cop nods again. "Can you tell me what happened once you arrived home?"

"When I walked in the door, Tr-Trevor," Colt's voice began to tremble. He cleared his throat and tried to continue. "Trevor asked where I had been. I told him, but I guess he didn't believe me. He got mad and slammed me up against the wall." Colt's heart began rapidly beating in his chest. He could feel sweat forming in his palms. He tried to wipe his hands on his pants but that didn't help. His throat felt dry. "Can I get some water?" Colt croaks. The female officer nods and gestures for the other officer to go get Colt some water.

"Do you feel okay? You look kind of pale?" The officer's brows knit together in concern.

"I'm okay. I just need a minute." The officer nods.

"Take all the time you need. Would you like a friend to come in here with you? Would that make it easier?"

At first Colt was going to shake his head, but then he changes his mind and nods.
