"It's giving Beethoven the dog" my sister fails the fuzzy dress around in the mirror. "Heyyy, I like that dress!" I snatch it from her and toss it to the floor. "Oh yea that's what you do with something you like. Toss it on the floor." She goes back in my closet for more options. "I can't believe you went from being a sad sloth to having dinner with a literal god." I sit on the bed hugging my pillow imagining it's his well built figure. The smell of his hoodie I'm wearing is still strong. I let out a soft "mmmm" and lay back. I feel like a school girl who has a crush on the most popular guy in school and he just asked me to prom. I'm in a daze thinking of his M shaped pink lips and how well his thighs filled out those black jeans. My body gets warmer with the photographic memory of his long and smooth fingers decorated with silver rings and how the sun highlighted his chocolate eyes. "I think I found something!" My sister's voice filled the room and shook me out of my thoughts. She comes out of my closet with a tan sweater dress I don't remember purchasing. "Now how cute would this be with thigh high boots and this long maroon overcoat?" She holds it up for me to see. I sit up and my mouth gapes open. My sister has a weird sense of style that's not really my cup of expresso but surprisingly, she scored with this one. "I actually like that. The colors go well together. I forgot I even bought that." I chuckle. Maybe I needed someone else to come and put things together for me, I really thought I had nothing to wear. "Only problem is, I don't have thigh high boots", I stand up and take the outfit from her hands to lay them on my bed. She plops on the bed next to me, "so let's go shopping, it's.." she looks at her phone for the time, "you have 4 hours until your dinner and you haven't even done your hair or makeup. Y/nnnn.." "ok relaxxxx! You're gonna give me anxiety. We can go now." I grab my phone and purse. She raises her eyebrows at me and scans me with her eyes, "you're going in that?" I look down at my naked legs, "what's wrong with this? I have on shorts and a shirt under." She doesn't move a muscle or take her eyes off of me. Ugh. "Ok I'll change MOM." I roll my eyes and flop my feet to my closet.
My tummy is doing cartwheels right now. I'm pacing back and forth in the kitchen with a glass of wine. "Ok y/n calm down. You're gonna sweat out your curls." My phone rings and I gulp down my wine after seeing his name on my screen. My thumb shakes as I tap answer, "hi", my voice trembles. "Hi beautiful, I'm here" his deep voice fills my ears and makes my heart pound through my chest. I do a silent scream and respond "ok, coming." We hang up and I grab the lipgloss out of my clutch purse and add more to my lips then head out the door. I'm met with him leaning against his car with a bouquet of long stemmed red roses and a porcelain white smile. He's dressed in black from head to feet except the red velvet blazer over his silk black shirt that loosely hangs off of his broad shoulders. My feet are glued to my welcome mat and I'm pretty sure I have a cheesy smile on my face. He walks towards me presenting the roses to my arms, "you look amazing." I look up to him and smile. Say what you're thinking y/n, this isn't your first rodeo. "You look great too. Thanks for the flowers, they're beautiful." I've never received long stemmed roses before, I'm swooning. He leads me to the car and opens my door for me. What a gentleman. I take in the scent of new car smell and his cologne. I notice this car.. 2022 Mercedes' s class, such class. He gets in the car and gives me one final look of endearment and smiles, "are you ready to go? I hope the restaurant I chose is good." He lets out a nervous chuckle and drives off. I have to shake of this nervous feeling. "You can listen to your music here if you want.. So you can get a bit more comfortable". He noticed. "I'm comfortable, it's just.. I haven't been out on a date in a while. This is new." I look at him & point to the roses. He keeps his eyes on the road but smiles, "no guys ever give you roses? I find that hard to believe. As gorgeous as you are." Sheesh, his confidence is showing and it's honestly attractive because he's making up for what I'm lacking right now. I glance over at him. Ahhh.. his side profile is carved by angels, my nose flares as I lower my eyes down his side to his thick thighs filling out his black slacks and up to his hand gripping the steering wheel. My eyes lower with the feeling of ocean waves in my stomach seeing his fingers accessorized with black rings and how his veins become more noticeable when he turns the wheel. I squirm at the thought of him touching me again with his strong hands, gripping my thighs and - "your destination is on the right" the gps sounds out. "We're here", he says unaware that I was in yet another sinful trance. He parks and gives me a smirk, "let's go beautiful". God help me.
This is going pretty well, I'm actually loosening up.. or maybe it's the wine. "So if you don't mind me asking, how long have you been single?" He sips his wine. Should I answer that? What if he wants to know about my ex? Oh what the hell, it's not important. "About a year now. What about you?" He chuckles.. "Going on 2 years.. that's kind of why I moved here honestly." He leans back in his seat and presses his tongue inside his cheek. Fuck that was hot. I twirl my fork in my pasta not sure if I want to know why he moved here. "My ex and I didn't end well. There were issues with money and fidelity. She met a guy who gave her the attention she wanted and showered her with expensive gifts more often than I did." I give him an apologetic look, "I'm -.." "it's ok. I don't think we were compatible anyways. We had a lot of differences." He looks me in the eyes with a reassuring smile. "Once I moved here, it was like a breath of fresh air and I finally was able to live on my own without her." I fidget with my napkin, "That was the same with my ex and I. It was ok in the beginning but the more time we spent with each other, it's like we grew apart more and more everyday. I was still trying to hold on and very much let my love for him outweigh our problems but in the end, I was the only one trying and he decided that we were just better off as friends." I feel a sudden familiar sadness come over me and I look down at my half full plate. He leans forward, tilts my chin up with his finger and gently holds my hand with his other hand, "it's ok. Don't be sad." We're eye to eye, I get chills down my neck from his touch. "I-I'm not." I smile to him, "I'm ok, I promise." My eyes lower down to his lips, and back up to his eyes. "Good," he sits back in his seat, "are you done? We can go if you like." It's getting harder and harder to snap out of these moments of weakness. I finish my wine off and give him the ok to call for the bill.
Pretty sure I'm a little drunk, it was a bad idea to down a whole glass of wine before I left. As he drives off, I sync my music to his car and play one of my favorite songs. "I had a great time yunho. It was nice getting to know you." I pop a mint in my mouth from my purse. "Ahhh same here. You've definitely loosened up more since the cafe." He laughs probably thinking of the latte incident. "Nooo, let's never speak of that again. Like ever." I laugh with him. "Oh ever? Ok.. I'll try." "You know, I never took that hoodie off." I lower my music a bit. He gives me a confused look, "so you didn't shower? EWWW!" I shove him as he bellows out a laugh. "NOOO! I showered silly! I just put it on afterwards." My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. "And to think you said it's too big." "It smells nice.." I shyly admit. "Oh I smell nice to you? Hm. Good to know." He gives me a smirk and a wink. My entire body is blushing at this point.
We arrive back at my place. "Home sweet home" I sing out as he parks his car and gets out to open my door. "Don't forget my roses," I stumble out the car. "Whoa easy there," he holds me up. Am I wine drunk? I look down at his hand on my waist and I lean my head back on his arm making eye contact with him. "Uh.. you almost fell.." he looks down at me concerned. Something in me pulls my face closer to his and I feather a light kiss on his lips. I feel the stars align and everything around me goes black, it's just us. He gently squeezes my waist and deepens the kiss, I let out a gentle "mm" and submit my body to his. His lips are still sweet from the wine and I can feel our heartbeats sync. He snakes his other hand around to the back of my neck and gently stands me up as he breaks the kiss. My eyes are still closed, not wanting this feeling to wear off; I'm practically floating. "Wow. That was.... unexpected." I open my eyes to him holding me with both arms smiling down at me. "I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me. It's the wine, I'm sure of it." I back away from his hold. "Oh, well— it's ok. " We both stand there awkwardly. "Oh! H-here you go," he takes my roses from the backseat and gives them to me, "I guess this is goodnight. Talk soon?" Why is it so awkward now? I give him a gentle smile and nod, "yea, I had a great time. Good night." I watch him get back in his car and give me a wave before he drives off. Still tasting the sweetness on my lips, I smile and head inside. I think I'm falling for him.
