Hi!!!! Sorry I don't have a chapter yet, I just wanted to like do a little excited rant.
So I live in this really like homophobic/transphobic Christian town. And like 90% of the teachers here don't give a crap about your proffered name or whatever. Well okay, so at my job my name tag has my name on it rather than my deadname cause they're chill with it. And I've had a teacher come through during the summer and made a comment about what it said. Well I have study hall in school this year and everyday there's a new teacher in study hall until they run out of teachers with no first hour and start over or whatever. So today's teacher was the one who made a comment on my name at work and she was walking through our seats asking for our names to mark us off as in class. When I told her my deadname she looked at me and asked me if I actually wanted to go by Oliver and wrote it down on the attendance sheet and I'm so happy right now!!! That's definitely the highlight of my week.
