Have I ever mentioned how much I hate diners. I hate the bright colours. I hate the preppy music. And I absolutely hate that they remind me of Kai Faust.

I've pondered over why. That's the question, Isn't it? I've retold the story hundreds of times over and over in my head and yet I've never really admitted the truth.

So here it is: I'm totally in love with him.

Therefore I was angry at him because he was in love with Brooke, my best friend. He chose her and not me.

Look, I know he's straight so I never really had a shot but that's not his fault, it's mine, it's my own fault that I fell for him in the first place

I fell in love with an arrogant, cocky hunter- but he's also caring and protective and smart, if you only pay attention to him.

I hated him because I hated myself.

I hate him because I hate myself.

I hate myself because I love him.

Like c'mon, best friends boyfriend, could you get anymore cliche than that! I sound like the main characters gay best friend straight out of a Wattpad fanfic.

I-I don't read Wattpad... In case you were wondering..

Being in this diner with Kai and Brooke brought back memories, even though we did fight a lot, we did have good times

I sat facing him, Brooke on my left, Emily on my right. On either side of Kai were Ayanna and Katerina. Behind us Liam, Octavia, Jordan and Cassie sat, doing shit all.

I swear this group is growing~

Kai sighed, phone in hand, it had been ringing but received no response so he tossed it onto the table in frustration, "where are you, coley?"

"I'm sure we'll find him, and Charlie" Ayanna replied reassuringly, "and at least we know he can protect himself"

"If he's anything like His brother, I'm sure he can" Brooke said sympathetically and kai returned it with a smile

The waitress walked over, her golden blonde ponytail shaking all over the place and her blue eyes immediately landing on Katerina

She took out her pad and pen before introducing herself "welcome to Denny's, i'm
Ophelia, and I will be your waitress for today, ready to order?"

She glanced over at the other table and her face fell immediately, she turned her head from side to side and frowned; she was looking for someone, someone who clearly wasn't here.

A shock of realisation struck across her face and she gritted her teeth, her confusion had been turned into anger.

We all thought this was very strange and I thought it was rather unprofessional, weren't all waitresses meant to be happy-go-lucky? It's literally in the job description.

"If you'll excuse me for a moment" she turned her heel and walked away, behind the counter and then out of eye view

"What about my food?" I heard Jordan yell over my shoulder

I rose to my feet "I need the bathroom" I claimed, though I didn't, I just didn't want to be here right now

I found the back exit, all diners have them, it was an escape root for staff whenever they grew restless and needed a break

She was there, on the phone. I know I shouldn't eavesdrop but- I don't actually have a excuse, I guess I'm just curious.

"Yeah, she was here" pause. "Well.." pause. "He must of gotten him first" pause. "I'll find him I promise" pause. "Don't worry, I'll deliver Cole and Katerina to you" pause. "Yes sir"

The door unintentionally slipped from my grasp, clicking loudly, I'm sure she heard.
I ran- well, I wouldn't say ran, more of speed walked but it was still in a hurry.

I reached the table, then grabbed at the arms of the people on the end, they belonged to Brooke and Ayanna.

"We need to leave. Now." I panicked

Kai's eyes shot up "what? Why?"

"The waitress! She's after Kat"

"What? Why me?"

"No clue but she's also on the hunt for Cole so we need to leave"

"My bloody brother, always attracting attention"

Everyone got up and honestly I'm surprised over the fact that they believe me but then again, our lives are fucking weird.

We were so unbelievably close to leaving until she magically appeared in front of our faces, "sorry, can't let her leave"

Customers around us were in panic and confusion- she knew that, so with the click of her fingers they were gone

"What-who.." Kai fumbled with his words

She let out a frustrated groan, "this seriously isn't how I wanted to do this but whatever, I'll work with what I've got. You can still call me Ophelia, that isn't my true name but it's more human. anyway, I've been sent by heaven to find Cole and Katerina, to guide them"

Emily's arm moved he sister behind her, "guide them for what?"

"It's better if I start from the beginning, take a seat kids"

And so she began her tail, answering our deepest questions:

"A little over seventeen years ago the celestial court received a prophecy about a war, the greatest war that there'll ever be: the war between heaven and hell.
In order to protect Gods creations, they combined there magic to gift twelve children, born and unborn alike, special abilities that they could use to fight on their side.
Well, heaven and hell didn't like this and wanted in on these special children so the highest ranking member of each sides donated their blood.
They chose one child each, twins to be exact, I guess they couldn't refuse the irony of sibling rivalry like Micheal and Lucifer before.
Both twins were injected with different blood, Katerina, you got the angels.. and Charlie got the demons"

Katerina looked like she was going to be sick, who could blame her.. I would totally freak out right about now.

Ophelia glided gracefully forward, taking Kat's hands with her own, "the blood of the angels runs through your veins, you will help our people win"

"B-But Charlie.." she began

"Is evil, you were always destined to fight, you're not supposed to get along"

After a minute for that information to sink in, Kai spoke up, "and my brother?how does he fit into this?"

"Both sides grew greedy, they wanted more.
They wanted a child strong, who would grow up to fight, they wanted someone smart and passionate and who could handle something so dark.. they wanted the same baby.
When heaven delivered the blood to the child they had no idea hell had been the night before.
A child with both human, angel and demon blood.. wow, that's really something else, right? And The war? What do you think the prize is for the winning side? It's the greatest weapon, probably ever. It's Cole"

"You said there were twelve others.. from the celestial court" I added "are we- are we those twelve?"

She stopped and thought long and hard.

"Yes"

Well I guess I just dropped everything.

It was a quick update and a longer chapter. Yay, go me!

Kinda gives me jace/ clary/ Sebastian aka Jonathan vibes from tmi. That wasn't my intention but here we are

Also did you know Alec liked Kai instead of Brooke, it was my plan all along so let me know if you figured it out
