you plopped down on a moss-covered stump inside the wide log, hands laying on your cheeks as you waited for gorou. huffing dramatically, you flopped down off the stump, laying on your stomach on the ground. there were muffled voices from the other side of the tree, and you could easily make gorou's voice out from the others. you rolled onto your back, lifting your hand to your ear, feeling the heat radiating off of it from the kiss.
you replayed the moment in your mind on repeat, your face growing redder every time your lips intertwined. you didnt understand why you did it, supposing it was just a 'spur of the moment' type deal.
still, was it though?.. gorou seemed so passionate, almost as if he wanted it..
you shook the thought from your mind, as you had determined that gorou probably held no romantic feelings toward you and that he had probably also felt compelled to do it, almost although you were in a trance.
your train of thought suddenly crashed when gorou's voice came out of nowhere, his tail swishing.
"y/n, are you alright?"
"huh?- oh, yeah, i'm fine."
"i've dealt with your pursuers. they wont bother you again."
you flashed a lazy, grateful smile towards the cat-like man. he returned with a mischievous one.
"aw, are you tired?"
"i guess, yeah."
you heard footsteps heading in your direction. you craned your head up to see what he was doing, resulting in you stretching your neck.
"perfect."
he said, before hooking his arm under the back of your legs, sliding his arm under your neck. he lifted you up, bridal style.
"w-what're you doing?!" you yelled, flailing your legs and arms around.
"you said you were tired, didnt you? i'm just helping out."
you couldn't exactly deny that you were tired, you had said so yourself. so, you just let him do the heavy lifting, hell, even your eyes fluttered as you leaned your head into his chest, slowly losing consciousness, you heard him chuckle.
you awoke a few hours later on a beach on a distant island.
"oh, you're awake." the familiar voice of the half-cat man called.
"where are we?" you yawned.
"Briny Beach. it's a rather dull and gloomy day, perfect. there are always too many tourists around in good weather. hardly enough room to wade, let alone sit."
"heh, then it really is perfect."
gorou smiled, ear-to-ear, at you.
"agreed. how was your sleep? you mumbled a lot of junk."
"i did?"
you remembered your dream was about three very unfortunate children, violet, sunny and klaus. they had escaped relentless pursuit of a terrible actor, wanting them in his clutches for only their great fortune after the tragic death of their parents, although they managed to escape time and time again, although, in their wake, leaving death after death after death, although, the ultimate peril was their pursuer's.
"it was good. i'm sure that if i shared it with the public they'd enjoy it. i should probably head home, though. my sister's probably worried right about now. it's been a while."
"i suppose it has. do you want me to walk you there?"
"i'll be fine. d'you mind letting me use your waverider?"
"yeah, sure. no problem."
later because sussyzeldafan is lazy
your long, treacherous journey over the inazuman waters came to a close as your ship docked on the beach of yashiori island.
"thank you, gorou. goodnight!"
"night."
you opened the door of your home to sara standing there, arms folded, tapping her upper arm with her finger.
"well? where have you been all day?"
"briny beach"
"what the hell is briny beach?"
"it's rather far away, you probably wouldn't know it." you pushed past her, lugging yourself up the stairs, although not before grabbing snacks from the pantry.
you lay awake a few hours, eating sour patch kids. you passed out of exhaustion.
