Klaus was watching over his child, his beautiful Hope from the void, fighting off Malivore once again. He and Hayley had died so that Hope could live. To have a life, to be free, to find love.
To experience joy.
But she was stuck in this school fighting monsters and Malivore over and over. This was no life for his daughter, this was not what he wanted for Hope and he was certain that this is not what his little wolf had envisioned for their daughter when she sacrificed her life killing Greta. For Hope to be always fighting off monsters at the Salvatore school.
Rebekah and Marcel were in New York barely existing. Rebekah no longer wanted to be human, the thought of leaving behind Hope upset her greatly. For Hope to live an eternal existence, with only Marcel and Kol, for eventually Freya, Keelin, and Davina would die.
Rebekah had discussed this with Marcel and he was overjoyed that he would not be saying goodbye to his beautiful sassy blonde love. The woman that had his heart for centuries.
But Marcel and Rebekah found little joy in their existence they drank blood, they fucked for hours on end daily, they drank large amounts of alcohol and the highlight of their week was ringing Hope and speaking with her.
They both knew that Hope was becoming less engaged in life, she missed her parents terribly and the last time she had come to them on school break, they were worried about Malivore and the unending battle that she constantly had to fight.
Rebekah and Marcel wanted to go back with her to the Salvatore school and end him once and for all, they looked forward to it, but Malivore had stated to Hope that any interference from any Mikaelson and he would eradicate their memories and those memories would not be returned.
Thankfully Freya, Vincent, Kol and Davina were working on a spell to finish Malivore once and for all.
So Rebekah and Marcel worried and thought of Klaus and Hayley and sometimes even Elijah. For even though Elijah had followed Klaus in death to redeem his actions after asking for his memories to be taken, they couldn't both but agree that had Elijah not taken his memories and fought against Greta and her narrow minded bigot cult, Hayley would be alive and there would have been time to come up with a plan to put the Hollow into Aurora and send those bitches out of existence.
The remaining Mikaelson 's talked of this often when they got together once a year for christmas. The only time they came together as one.
They all felt the loss too keenly to come together more often.
They also discussed with Hope, the last christmas when she had turned twenty. That it was now time for her to leave the school. Time to go and have a life. But Hope had dug her heels in, telling her Family that she would not walk away from the Salvatore school until she had defeated Malivore.
Hope was strong and loyal and she would not walk away from them until this was done. So like her Mother and Father in that regard, she would never walk away from a fight, never walk away from her pack.
