Chapter 11 {Friends?}

Jane's Pov-

Today Toni gets out of the hospital and me and her are going to catch up. I drove to the hospital to pick her up. Once I got there I got out of the car and walked to her room. She was on her bed all ready and dressed.

"You ready Toni?" I asked walking towards her. She didn't reply she just nodded and walked right past me. I can already tell something dramatic was going to happen. We walked to my car and got in.

"When were you going to tell me ?" I asked her. She looked at me with a confused look. "When were you going to tell me that you knew Jack?" I added.

She just sighed. "When were you going to tell me goodbye when you just left me? When were you going to tell me you were gone when I was alone? When were you going to tell me I wasn't important anymore? When were you going to tell me I lost my best friend?" She replied. I just kept driving.

I pulled up into the place we would go to when we were kids, Belle Cafe, we went here everyday. We were good friends with the owners daughter and they knew are order by heart.

"Here we are." I said getting out the car. Toni got out a few minutes after I did. I could tell she wasn't liking this already. Why is today like this already?

"Why did you bring me here? To remind me of the times i fucking sat here alone hoping my best friend would come back. Waiting and waiting for you to come here like we always did and you never showed." She said, she bringing it up again.

"I had no choice to leave after what I did, I couldn't stay!" I screamed. She gave me a weird look.

"What do you mean you had no choice?! You did have a choice. You could have fucking told me what you did and we could have talked it out. But you decided to leave me with out saying anything. Do you know how worried I was ? I thought something bad happened to my best friend. I wouldn't sleep at all because I didn't know where you were or if you were okay!" She yelled back at me.

"Well how would I've told you I slept with Nash when you were head over heels for him?! I was trying to be a good friend" I blurted out.

"Friend? How in the hell were you trying to be a good friend?! Would a good friend leave without a trace ? Would a good friend have sex with the guy i was and still am in love with? Don't ever say you were trying to be a good friend. I may not have been a perfect friend but I know I was a way better friend you will ever be!" She said storming off.

"Get back here Tonette." I said going after her. She kept walking. Then she just stopped and picked up her phone.

"Yes, this is her? Why?" Is all I heard her say until she dropped her phone and she fell to the floor.

"No, no, no. This isn't happening. Its not real. Please Toni. Wake up. Wake up." Is all she kept saying to herself.

"Toni ?! What is wrong." I said running to her and sitting right next to her. She wouldn't speak. She just kept crying and crying. I decided to call Nash. Maybe he would get it out of her.

"Nash, Its Jane. Um I am in front of Belle Cafe and Toni just got off the phone with someone and she is on the floor crying her eyes out repeating stuff like 'this isn't real' and i have no idea what is going on. Please hurry." I said and hung up.

He showed up like 15 minutes later and ran to Toni. He held her in his arms and she just cried in his chest.

"Toni, baby what is the matter? Tell me please?" He told her as he kissed her forehead and ran his fingers through her hair

"The- They , They're gone." She said hesitating a bit. I was so confused.

"Who, who is gone?" I asked.

"My...My parents. I just got a call from the hospital in Iowa and both of my parents got killed at a shooting in the airport." Toni finally confessed.

Nash and I looked at each other, I didn't expect that. I can't believe this.

"Oh my gosh Toni." I said and covered my mouth.  Nash got up and started pacing around and running his hand through his hair.  Toni got up and went to Nash and he looked her in the eyes, they hugged each other and Toni cried in his arms. Toni is so devastated.

"They meant so much to me and I couldn't even say goodbye to them. Now they are just gone, I would do anything if I could have just said goodbye." She said

"Toni. I am so sorry. I can't believe this is happening, I feel so terrible." I said walking up to Toni. She just looked away and doesn't even say anything. I knew something bad was going to happen, I just need to do something. I will try my hardest to make feel a lot better. I know I haven't been there for her, but this time I promise I am not going anywhere.

"It's going to be okay, I will be right near your side through it all. I love you Tonette." Nash said.

"Toni. I am sorry. I know I just left you when we were younger but I promise I am not going anywhere anytime soon." I said. She looked at me and just hugged me really tight.
