Dream still wasn't sure exactly how he ended up on a weekend camping trip with Karl. Neither party liked the outdoors whatsoever and both had very little camping experience. Sure Dream had gone a few times with his family and watched enough youtube to have some vague idea of how to survive outdoors but he's a minecraft youtuber, outside isn't really part of that.

On the other hand Karl had watched enough Survivor to know how to run amongst wolves but never had the time or energy to apply it. Aside from the few times they've camped outdoors with the beast crew for videos or recreation they don't have much practical experience either.

"Karl, do you seriously not have instructions for this?" Dream asks, a pile of thin metal poles and a hastily folded tarp laying at the base of his feet. Some of the poles were sort of connected but didn't seem to form a tent shape.

"It's literally an a-frame tent," Karl says as they collect kindling from around the campsite. "It's like the most simple tent there is."

Dream groans and puts together more poles till they start to resemble a semi structural shape. Shakily Dream puts the fabric of the tent and begins to plant the tent in the ground so it wouldn't blow away incase of wind. Once finished he steps back from his work and Karl looks over to see how it looks.

"That sucked," Dream says, turning to face Karl.

"I've seen worse," Karl replies. "Do you have a lighter?"

Dream takes a cheap lighter out of his pocket and tosses it over to where Karl is crouched down by the fire. Karl starts by lighting some small sticks and dropping them onto the rest of the kindling. A small fire starts in the fire circle and spreads to some of the bigger sticks in the fire. Once the fire grows a sizable amount Karl begins to set up the logs in a triangle shape around it and sits back onto his heels, looking up at where dream is standing about a metre away, a look of pure joy etched onto his face.

"Pretty impressive huh Dream?" Karl says, face breaking into an even bigger smile at the nod of Dream's head.

"Let's just finish getting set up and then we can start dinner," Dream says, walking over to where his backpack is laying on the ground a few metres away, obviously stuffed to the brim with supplies. Stuff is practically falling through the bag. Opening it up Dream and Karl grabbed their two sleeping bags, blankets, and a lantern. They set up their tent as Dream began cooking dinner.

Two hotdogs were roasting over the fire, a simple camping meal for two simple camping guys. The sun was beginning to set, dipping below the horizon and casting a blaze orange glow upon the campsite. Dream took the hotdogs from where they were on the fire and put them into buns for the two of them to enjoy.

They sat in silence while eating their dinner, listening to the calming sounds of nature. Trees rustling in the warm summer breeze. Birds chirping their last calls of the night before they arise bright and early at dawn. Dream takes a swig of water from the jug they brought and scoots closer to Karl.

The wind shifts as the day turns to night, bringing a colder chill into the air. Karl shivers and presses themself into Dream. Dream was like a walking heater, always a warm presence. As it got darker the sky filled with stars became more clear. Both Karl and Dream looked up to admire their brightness and wonder.

"Should we make s'mores before the fire dies out completely?" Dream suggests and Karl nods. Dream gets to work, grabbing all of the supplies. Using the hotdog roasting sticks from earlier he puts a marshmallow on and hands it to Karl. They roast the marshmallows over the fire for a little while, listening to the crackle of the embers.

"Shit," Dream says as his marshmallow catches on fire, turning the white outside into a crisp, black shell. He blows on it to put it out when suddenly Karl's marshmallow also catches on fire. "Shit luck huh Karl?"

Karl giggles in agreement as they assemble their smores. Dream and Karl eat up the gooey messing, trying to catch the drips before they get their clothes all sticky. The fire is almost died down by the time they finish, only casting their faces in the golden glow.

"Hey uh Karl," Dream starts. "You got a little bit of... stuff on your face."

"O-oh," Karls says, attempting to wipe it off to the best of their abilities.

"Hold on," Dream gently grabs Karls face and cups his cheek in a gentle, sensual motion, generally considered intimate. He smoothly brings his face forward to encapture their lips in a sweet kiss.
