Prologe : The Useless Wave

Year 2110

Lucy, a petite six year old girl awaited the arrival of her best friend, Cayden. He and Lucy had been together since the moment of their birth. They were always together, they also frequently had sleepovers. They were the closest any friends could ever get.

"Lucy?" Her mother searched.

"Yes, mommy?"

"Lucy, I'm coming in okay?"

"Okay!" Lucy replied.

Lucy's mom open the door. The moment the door completely opened, Lucy felt a cool breeze dancing around her. The breeze seemed to hug her warmly. Soon the breeze left, leaving Lucy dumbfounded.

"Do you, feel anything inside you Lucy??" Lucy's mom asked with hope.

"What do mean mommy? I feel fine!"

"It's nothing..." Lucy's mom sighed heavily.

"What's wrong mommy??"

Before anything could be explained the doorbell rang. Lucy raced to the door to greet her best friend but when she opened the door Cayden and Mrs. Tomlinson were not her only guests. A few girls were behind Cayden like it was their place.

"Where's your mommy Lucy?" Mrs. Tomlinson, Cayden's mother, asked Lucy.

"She's right here." Lucy stated pointing to the table her mother sat at.

Once everyone entered, Cayden gave Lucy a big hug. He always gave her hugs. All the other girls behind him glared at Lucy, causing her to feel uncomfortable. She squirmed in Cayden's embrace causing Cayden to back out, looking at her weirdly.

"Go upstairs and play!" Lucy's mom told them, trying to seem joyful.

The children all rushed upstairs, the girls stumbling over each other to be next to Cayden.

"Has Lucy shown any signs?" Mrs. Tomlinson inquired.

"No, I even tried to force start it by letting her feel my breeze. Has Cayden?"

"Yes, he's began bringing more and more girls home to play. At first it was just surprising but it seems to be seduction."

"Congratulations Mrs. Tomlinson! I heard that it was hard to handle those with seduction as their power. I hope my Lucy would someday find her powers too, someday..." Lucy's mom trailed off.

"Ahaha, I'm not so delighted to find out that my only son has seduction as his power... Are you really going to send Lucy off to Ivy Crest?" Mrs. Tomlinson asked, worried.

"If she wants to survive, she's going to have to go. I just never thought she would have to go this early..."

"I'm sorry..." Mrs. Tomlinson replied in a sorrowful manner.

Just then, two men from Ivy Crest rang the doorbell. They asked for Lucy in a critical tone. As she was called by her mother, Lucy came running down the stairs. She seemed to be tired of all the drama going on in her room.

"Why do you need me mommy?" Lucy asked, exhausted.

"Lucy, honey, you're going to have to go with these gentlemen, okay?"

"WHY?" Lucy blurted as she was forcibly taken by the men.

"You have to study well Lucy!" Lucy's mother called out with tears brimming in her eyes.

"MOMMY! MOMMY! I DON'T WANT TO GO!" Lucy screeched at the top of her lungs.

Cayden looked out the window and watched Lucy being taken away. He waved, clueless about the fact that he wouldn't be able to see her for years.
