Venom x Child!Reader

(A/N: Full disclosure: I've never seen the movie. So, if anything is off, that's because I'm only going off of all of the fanfics that I've read! So, sorry for any inconsistencies!)

You wander into a little shop, and you're greeted by a kind lady at the cash register.

You had parted from your mother a bit ago. Whatever she was doing, you became bored of it rather quickly, so you decided to walk into the nearby shop. And you're glad you did, especially once you notice the candy isle.

As you trot into the isle full of treats, someone opens the door to the shop. You figure it's your mother walking in, but when you peek your head out and look at the door, you see a man with dark brown hair and tired eyes.

His blue eyes lock with your innocent, (e/c) orbs, and you smile wide at him. He cocks his head to the side, and his brows furrow at you. He then gives the cashier a confused glance as he walks towards you.

He glances in the isle you're standing in, and then turns his attention back to you. He squats down to your height.

"Where's your parents?" he asks in a gentle tone.

You purse your lips and point out the door, looking from the glass exit to the stranger squatting down in front of you. As his eyes trail to the door, you trot around him and set a Hershey bar on the counter, and then set a five dollar bill right next to it.

She blinks in surprise, but then smiles as she grabs the chocolate and scans it. When she goes to grab the money, someone reaches around you and places their hand over the dollar. You look up and see the man grinning down at you.

"I got it," he tells the cashier as he hands her a few dollars.

You pout up at him playfully, grabbing your five dollar bill and reluctantly stuffing it into your pocket. He merely gives you a slanted smile in response.

As the lady hands you the chocolate, you're about to tell the man "thank you," but then three masked men bust through the door. You gasp, looking at them with wide eyes, but before you can really tell what they're holding, the kind stranger pulls you behind himself, and you're left staring wide-eyed at the back of his red hoodie.

"Get down!" You hear one of the men yell.

Then, you hear the man in front of you whisper to himself, "okay, Venom, just don't hurt the kid."

And as soon as he says that, his body morphs into a large, black, slimy creature. Your neck cranes up to see him in his full height, and you gape up at him.

The creature growls at the three men as they back up, their eyes wide with fear. The black being leans down to them and grins.

"I am going to eat you," he whispers in a deep, rumbling tone. But before he can act upon his comment, you hear the kind stranger chime in.

"Not in front of the kid."

You hear the creature emit a guttural growl in annoyance, and it turns to look back at you. The three men take this as an opportunity to run, and they bolt out of the door, screaming like little children.

Venom huffs, his eyes turning to slits as he glares down at you. You smile in response, a kind, caring smile. You lift your hands up, revealing the chocolate bar the kind stranger payed for.

"Here, if you're hungry," you chime with a happy tone as you stretch your arms up to the creature.

He tilts his head to the side while leaning towards the chocolate. "Look, Venom, it brings a peace offering." You hear  the kind man's voice chime from the creature.

You giggle and nod, getting on your toes to allow the creature to sniff the chocolate. He hums, leans in, and takes a big whiff. Then, a giant, long tongue flops out of his mouth, and reveals his sharp teeth.

You quickly unwrap the chocolate, and break a piece off, and then drop it onto the creature's tongue. He huffs while snaking his long tongue back into his mouth, and then hums in delight. As soon as he swallows, his eyes widen at the flavor, and his tongue comes back out, reaching towards you as he waits for another bite.

You giggle, taking a larger chunk of the chocolate and placing it on his tongue. Once again, he slips his tongue in and swallows. He looks down at you, and reaches a single finger out to poke your cheek, causing you to laugh.

His eyes soften as he pets the top of your head with his finger. "I am keeping you," he states with a low, hissing voice as your cheeks blossom a deep shade of pink.

You smile up at him, and right as you're about to respond, you hear the door open. You peek around the black creature, your eyes immediately locking with your mother's worried gaze.

"Oh, heavens, (y/n)!" she cries out, stretching her arms out to you.

Venom turns around and growls at the woman, and her eyes widen at him in response.

"Mommy!" you call out, throwing your arms up and running into her arms.

She wraps her arms around you, and embraces you tightly. Venom cocks his head to the side at the odd action while Eddie gushes at how cute and innocent you are.

"Let's go," your mother says, grabbing your free hand and tugging your towards the door.

You look back at the black creature and frown, and then your eyes trail down to your hand. Your eyes widen and you tug your hand free from your mother's grasp.

You trot up to Venom and stretch your arm up and hold your hand out, revealing the unwrapped, half-eaten chocolate bar. You give him a kind, gentle smile.

"Thank you, Venom," you whisper as he pinches the chocolate bar between his fingers.

You wrap your arms around his leg and squeeze as hard as you can in an attempt to give him a bear hug, but your squeezing only tickles him in the slightest. He huffs through his nose, sounding like quiet laughter, and he scoops you up in his hand and lifts you to eye-level.

You place your palm on his head as you gaze into each other's eyes. You lean towards him and place your forehead on his, and he closes his eyes while taking in a deep breath. When you pull away, he places you back on the ground, and you run back to your mother.

You take one last glance at Venom, waving goodbye as you walk away, and then your mother takes you back to the car.

Venom sighs as he watches you leave in the vehicle. "I wanted to keep it," he murmurs to Eddie, pouting when he can no longer see the car as it turns and disappears down a road.

The symbiote shifts back, melting away and revealing Eddie. He sighs at the creatures words, and he shakes his head.

"I know, I know. But you can't keep a human as a pet."

Venom thinks for a second, and then his head pops up over the male's shoulder as he speaks up. "But, Eddie, you're my p-"

"Not what I meant," Eddie snaps back before Venom can finish.
