Once everyone reached the meadow, out of sight from the town, Ink made a portal to the Sanctuary.
Blue and Dust where the first to hurry in, both eager to get out of the cold night air. The smaller couldn't help but blush as her hand brushed against Dust's as they walked through. She couldn't see his reaction though because his hood shielded his face from view at this point.
I wonder how he's doing, Blue thought, a strange warm feeling tying knots in her stomach. Fine, probably...That's what he'd say. Oh no...I hope I'm not crushing on him, that'd be...actually... fine. I'd be fine with it. I wouldn't mind if he didn't also.
She glanced behind herself to see Dream and Error stumble through, both smiling stupidly as they tried to catch the other so as not to fall.
They're so strange. Acting like fools in love but not actually dating. Perhaps I should ask Dream about it...?
"We should head back to the Castle now, it's getting late after all," Nightmare said, his hands in his pockets as he gave a curt nod.
Ink huffed and wrapped her arms around his neck, a pouting look on her face. "C'mon Nightyyy why doncha stay?" she whined. It was almost comical the way Nightmare flinched, his blush covering both sides of his cheeks as Ink clung to him.
"Ink I just said w-we have to go. Besides, I uh, wouldn't want the others – or myself – to make a mess around here or anything," he responded, sending a pleading look to anyone within range.
Dream rolled her eyes and sighed, coming to her brother's aid. She wrapped her arms around Ink's waist and pulled her off Nightmare easily, earning a yelp of surprise from the artist. Eventually Ink complied and Dream let go of her.
Ink grinned and turned around, giving Dream a loose hug. "If you won't stay then Dream'll be my sleepover buddy," Ink stated, making sure to give Error a glance.
He looked irritated to say the least. Ink squeezed Dream tighter, sliding one of her hands around the Guardian's waist, then whispered something in her "ear." Dream blushed brightly, causing the other two to become worried and angry.
Error quickly wrapped his strings around Dream and pulled her out of the hug, keeping her close, as Nightmare grabbed Ink with his tentacles and kept her suspended just off the ground.
"You're such a creep," Error hissed, earning an amused giggle from the artist.
"Well who else am I supposed to have fun with when you're both gone~?" Ink teased, resting her chin on her arms as Nightmare's tentacles were still wrapped snuggly around her middle.
Nightmare rolled his eye, releasing his partner from the tentacle. Error pulled the strings from around Dream and walked over to the portal Nightmare had made – one Dust had already quickly walked through. "See you tomorrow, Squidiot," Nightmare said plainly, flicking Ink on the forehead and heading for the portal.
Error followed suit, waving discreetly to Dream on his way out (she waved back, of course, with a smile). Just before he stepped through, Error grabbed Ink's arm and leaned down a bit. "Don't do anything funny, or I'll make sure you don't see the light of day again," he threatened quietly.
Ink only smiled and waved him off. "No guarantees, Glitchy. I do like jokes and pranks, ya know?"
Nightmare shoved Error through the portal before he could slap the artist.
