The castle was huge. Ansel showed me all three gardens. We continued going to the stable. It was full of beautiful horses.
"What would you say about a horse ride?" he smiled putting his hand around my waist. "Choose the one you want" he said pointing to the horses.
One caught my attention and I loved it when I saw it. It was black with a black mane. I approached it slowly "Joelle be careful, Death is a bit unpredictable he does not let anyone touch him" said Ansel carefully grabbing me from my wrist .
"Why did you name him Death?" I said smiling because it seemed strange to me. "The truth is that we called him that because he is always distant and kind of scary" he said laughing slowly listening to his words "I know it sounds strange but no one has ever ridden him , he alsmost killed the first one who tried " I smiled wickedly
"I hope you named him that because of his character and not I because of his color "said, shrugging my shoulders. I never liked these stereotypes. I hope Ansel believed the same .
"of course not Joelle, don't tell me you believed something like that about me" he added, putting his hand on his heart making me smile of relief
"I know, I apologize but sometimes people can be... strangely bad" I said with a sigh "Diversity is the charm of life ... the uniqueness of each of us makes us beautiful" I said smiling at my mother's words, she was a wise and brave woman .
"Your mother would be very proud of you Joel, you are absolutely right" he said giving me a sharper smile which I reciprocated
I started walking slowly towards Death. Surprisingly, I was not afraid at all. "Joel, please, how many other horses did you choose?" I glared at him "shh you are going to scare him , let me try" he sighed whispering to me to be careful .
"Hello boy" I said without saying his name which he may not have liked. He growled at me and raised his front legs "calm down, do not be afraid" I started moving closer to him with my hands up so that he would understand that I would not bother him
"I won't hurt you, I am good like you" he lowered his legs and relaxed. "bravo" I rested my hand on his head gently "can I?" to my surprise he bowed his head to reach him more easily "good job" I caressed him gently making Ansel open his mouth in surprise .
" I told you he isn't dangerous , come here" as Ansel took a step, Death began to growl loudly.
"Calm down, calm down, calm down my boy" but Death did not stop until Ansel left "I will see you another time, do not worry" I caressed him gently on his mane
I followed Ansel out "you will not go in there again, could you have been killed did you see how he reacted?" he shouted passing me in his arms "Ansel, he was calm, you just came in abruptly" I said resting my palms on his chest
"Joelle, to be liked by Death means that you have something very special , he never calms down with anyone" he confessed, caressing my hair "we will find out" I said and I started walking towards the castle but he stopped me by my arm .
"You do not know how worried I was when you went in there, promise me that whenever you go in there again you will tell me to come with you "I nodded" I promise "I got up on my toes giving him a kiss on the cheek. I'm sure he blushed and he turned to cough so I wouldn't see him " I think it's better to go inside it started getting dark, let's go find your room " he said placing his hand around my waist .
"Thanks for everything "
