They met in secret, in the dark and the deep, and spoke in hushed voices. They plotted, they schemed, they planned, and they watched her. She would be their savior, the young one, born to step into her mothers place and pull them back from the precipice on which they balanced. Events had already been set into motion, with a momentum that could not-would not-be stopped. The vampyre was out of the way, as was the interloping adoptive mother, and the dream-speak conversation with Laurelai had gone far better than they could have hoped. Soon the time would come for them to step out of the shadows, to reclaim their former glory, to take back their dominion over nature and the world that had far too long belonged to another.
Oh yes. The young one would be their savior. It had been decided before she was born. And she was right where they needed her.
