Deena exists the restroom door. "Sam's in. Is Simon done?" she says. "He's not back yet, so... No," I tell her, nervously tapping my foot on the ground.
As if on cue, Simon dashes up towards the rest of us. Sprinting down the hallway and stopping in front of us. "Dude! She's here! I saw her!" he yells. "She was... She was so sexy, but fucking crazy still! She was doing it! Following the blood trails!"
I'm not even jealous of Ruby Lane. I'd agree with Simon 100% if she wasn't trying to kill my friend. "It's working," Kate says. She turns towards Deena's direction. "Skull Mask freak, three o'clock," she warns.Sure enough, holding a knife, the Skull Mask Killer is slowly treading the hallway. "You always hurt the one you love..." A voice sings. Ruby Lane with her razor. She's walking in the hallway next to Kate and I. "This is so dumb! If this doesn't work, I will murder you," Kate tells Deena. "Shh! Just be quiet," I sharply whisper to Kate.
Another door opens. Out comes the Camp Nightwing Killer, axe and all. He hits the handle against his hand once and then begins to run straight for the girl's restroom. "They're all here," Deena shakily whispers.
Skull Mask walks into the restroom first, joined by Ruby. Finally, Nightwing runs inside the restroom. As soon as all of them enter, I shut the door and hold it closed. I listen for sound from the vents. Before I can process, Sam climbs down from the vent and yells, "Go, go, go, go, go!" I take my hand away from the door handle and let Kate tie the door to make sure that the killers can't get out.
"RUN!" Deena orders as she pours the last of the alcohol jug on the floor. We all run far away from the restroom while Deena lights her lighter and throws it on the ground. A flame immediately ignites in the door and Deena sprints to us.
The sounds of screaming are the only sound that can be heard alongside the smell of smoke. Everyone waits along the wall, looking straight ahead of them. Waiting for everything to be over with. Simon and I tightly hold each other's hands. My chest tightens a bit, shortening my breath. No! Stop it, Y/N! You can't have a panic attack. We're killing these monsters once and for all.
A loud explosion echoes across the whole building. The screaming stops. I flinch at the horribly loud explosion, but I still have a tight grip on Simon's hand.
"It's over," I whisper. "Extinguish the fire!" Kate unties the door handle and swings it open. A dark cloud of smoke escapes into the hallway. Josh and Simon charge into the restroom, being the only ones already holding a fire extinguisher. Deena, Sam, Kate, and I each grab a fire extinguisher from the ground and go inside as well.
It smells horrible in here. Like rotten burning flesh. Though that's what I should expect from exploding actual rotten flesh, the smell still gets to me. Despite my disgust, I extinguish flames in the corners of the restroom. I'm almost knocked back by the force of the fire extinguisher, but I stand my ground.
Soon enough, with all of our hard work, all of the fire is put out. All that's left is chunks of dead flesh on the walls, ceiling, and ground. "Come back from that, motherfuckers!" Simon taunts as we all stop our fire extinguishers."Holy shit! We did it!" I smile, looking in Simon's blue eyes. He looks right back into my eyes. But before he can say anything, a small slosh interrupts our moment of victory.
...What?
I slowly turn to where the noise came from. Two chunks of rotten flesh inch together and merge as one.
No...
It can't be...
Another chunk rolls off of the wall, splatting on the ground. "Guys?" Josh calls out. "No... That's impossible," I whisper to myself. The dead flesh forms the shape of a hand. "Holy-" Josh exclaims. Before the arm can grab a hold of him, I pull him away and run out the restroom along with everyone else, yelling, "GO! GO!"
