"All is no longer good in Sunnyvale. New evidence continues the surface implicating Union County Sheriff Nicholas Goode as the Shadyside Serial Killer. The family maintains they had no knowledge of Goode's horrifying secret-"
"Bullshiiiit!" Simon sings in a low, exaggerated opera voice. I turn away from the TV. "You ready to go yet?" I ask him. "You have to drive." I point to my sling for emphasis. "Chill out, we'll get there," he chuckles, stuffing a spoonful of oatmeal in his mouth.
I roll my eyes and turn back to the TV. "Hey, Y/N," someone murmurs. I look up and see Timothy, Simon's older brother, plopping down on the couch. "Good morning, Timmy." "What'd I miss?" "Nick Goode, the sheriff of Union County, is a serial killer," I explain vaguely."Damn. That's messed up." He doesn't even know the half of it. The news cuts to a familiar woman outside of a fancy mansion, wearing a pencil skirt and a plaid blazer. The newscaster woman that greeted me when I came out of the hospital with questions.
Microphone in her hand, she announces, "I am here outside of the home of William Goode..." "Yeah. That's not creepy at all," Timothy scoffs. "Oh, yeah. Y/N and I met that lady," Simon chimes in. "She is such a nosy bitch." He carries a hairbrush in his hands instead of a spoon. He neatly runs the bristles through each chunk of hair as he uses his hand to fluff it after he moves on to another piece.
"By the way, I already told Kate to forge a doctor's note for me." "Are you skipping school?" Timothy points to us. "We prefer the term 'going on a date'," Simon says, bending over the couch for one moment to give me a quick kiss on my cheek. Then he's back to brushing and fluffing his hair.
"Yeah, we're skipping school," I answer for him, my face heating up. "You're going out with each other?" Timothy exclaims. "Finally! It took you two long enough!" I nervously smile. "Yeah, it really did.""For how long? How come my baby brother didn't tell me? How'd it happen?" "A few days, you should ask him, and... I'll have to spare you on how it happened." I answer all of his questions at once, nervously smiling at the last one. "Alright," he nods, looking proud. I chuckle and get up from the couch. Simon has disappeared.
"Simon?" I call out. No answer. I look down the hallway. The bathroom door is closed. My stomach drops for some reason. And it's as if all of my senses are muffled by my own mind, reminding me of the moment when Simon was possessed.
Filled with paranoia, I slowly approach the door. "Si?" I raise my left arm to knock on the door. My hand trembles with fear. I knock on the door. "S...Simon?""Hold on," he says. I sigh with relief at the sound of his voice. "I just need to... get these strands sorted out." He sounds out of breath. "Simon, you look good no matter what your hair looks like," I assure. I hear him place down his hairbrush on the counter.
"Can I come in?" "Yeah..." I open up the door.
Simon is leaning over the sink, staring deeply into the mirror. "Hey, what's wrong?" I ask, stepping inside. "I don't know," he mumbles, shrugging his shoulders. He smiles half-hearted, hoping that it will pass by me."It's... like..." he struggles to find the right words. I don't interrupt him, just patiently wait to listen. "I... I don't know. I really don't know. It's like I had to remind myself that I'm in control of my body." I wrap my arm around his shoulder.
"Well... We might not be okay," I say. "We may be messed up from all the shit we went through, but we're together. We're both alive. That's what matters." He sighs and nods his head. "You're right." He grabs my hand. "I'm sorry," he mumbles. "Don't ever apologize for that," I whisper. He nods again. "I love you." I give him a short kiss on his lips.As I'm about to pull away, he turns around and wraps his arms around my waist, deepening the kiss. I close my eyes, letting his lips brush against mine. His hand reaches down and squeezes my ass, making me giggle and pull my lips away.
"Can we stay here for a bit?" Simon asks. "We could just settle down before we leave." I nod my head. "That sounds nice," I grin.We head to his room and we just lie down. He rests his head on my lap, letting me run my hands through his blonde hair he worked so hard to get perfect.
I quietly hum a song. Not any song that I've personally heard, just a tune I'm making up in my head as I go along. Once I stop, Simon looks up at me. "You're so beautiful," he sighs, smiling. "I wish we could do this every day. Just you and me. Lying down. Not worrying about anything.""Well, we won't have to worry about anything supernatural from now on. That's for sure," I say, resting my hand on his head. "Can you keep petting my hair?" I smile and continue to comb his locks with my fingers.
"I like it when you do that." He nuzzles against my thighs. "Stop being such a baby," I giggle. "It's too much for my heart." "But I'm your baby," he pouts."You're so weird." "You love it."
"Wanna get out of here?" I ask. He groans and rolls out of my lap. "Mmkay," he mumbles. "I didn't say we had to," I laugh. "Well, now that you said it, I figured we have to go eventually," he tells me, standing up. We walk out of the front door. "Have fun!" Timothy calls out to us. I wave goodbye to him before closing the door.
Simon cheerfully tosses the car keys up in the air and catches them again. I get in the front passenger seat. "You better drive like a normal person," I quip, buckling my seatbelt. "I make no promises, my love," he declares, turning the keys in the ignition. The car starts, its engine roaring with life.
We smile, gazing to the road ahead of us.

I did it! I wrote a full story! I'm sorry if the finale was underwhelming. I wanted to end on a good note without anything too extra. I really had fun writing this story. Even if it didn't get as many views as I hoped it would, I still enjoyed working on it.
However, this is the end of Blood Bound. Thank you so much for reading and supporting this story. Please make sure to follow me to stay tuned for new fanfics!(Ngl, I'm tearing up a bit. Just a little bit.)
Much love,
