''hurry up matt'' ''im going, hold your horses, or in your cases your panities'' i whack the back of his head ''just .....ugh'' he laughs at me but opens the door for me anyway it is our last day of school -finally- and afterwards we we're gonna go out and celebrate and by celebrate i mean hit up jack and the box and rent a movie. ''can we just forget about last night..please'' ''i thought you well , enjoyed it'' the grin slips off his face and he looks hurt

''no no it was ummm well great but please i just; its awkward and its better if we just keep it between us please don't go telling shit to Andrew and if you do'' i raise a finger at him accusingly ''i will personaly assassinate you'' ''don't worry i won't tell a soul, now chill relax no more SCHOOL'' ''i know ...'' ''cheer up alex this will be the best summer yet.'' he trys to comfort me as we pull up in the school parking lot. but a nagging feeling keeps me from smiling.

''hey sarah'' she stands at the front gate our usual spot before school ''hey'' she runs up to me while matt drags behind texting ''wheres andrew'' ''i don't know i think he went to the bathroom i'm sure he''ll be right ba-'' im pretty sure sarah stops breathing clutching her backpack, her eyes full of white hot rage as she -and all of us- see Andrew, kissing the one and only ruby.

What a nice way to start off summer.

Ruby looks over at us with smug pleasure her hands feeling up andrew like hes her man, ugh that bitch. She closes her eyes just as he opens his ,and the moment he does he catches sight of sarah but ruby has a tight grip and doesn't let him slip away but finally its to much for sarah she trys to leap forward cussing out andrew ,

but luckily i grab her arm pulling her back trying to calm her but no matter what i say shes just so angry, stubborn and feisty, when she starts to wiggle free of my grip all i whisper is ''no'' but something else catches my eye, matt walking up to andrew yelling at him , andrew unable to respond but he dosen't evan have time to say anything before matt throws the first punch knocking him to the ground. And ruby oh ruby all she does is slink away, a livid face and 2 venomous eyes which uttered more threats than her eyes ever could.

''ANDREW!!'' sarah yells out anger long gone but is now filled with despise, i hold her back firmly trying to stay calm, for both of us ''matthew STOP!!'' matt steps on andrew ,causing sarah to fall to the floor curled up holding her stomach big fat tears streaming down her face ''MATTHEW!!'' i yell ,that little hore still doesn't listen , but suddenly there's a turn of events andrew grabs a hold of matts leg slamming him on the floor, getting a good grip on him.

I try to get up still screaming his name out repeatedly trying to call him back but sarah grabs my hand knocking some sense into me, while andrew gets up fists curled nostrils flaring totally pissed, matts a mirror image. But before matt can do or say anything andrew gives him a slugger to the nose making him start to bleed like a facet , i cry out his name but its drowned out by the chanting of the crowd that has started to gather ''fight, fight, fight'' A few brave souls dive in trying to seprarate the 2 but end up pulling out.

because everyone knows that getting in the middle of a fight between a couple of the schools strongest guys is, suicide. and throughout this whole time me and sarah are crying our eyes out for the people we need the most. Finally a group of guys -including the principal, and the counselors- break up the fight, taking matt to a bench by the office while andrew sits at the table by the bathroom..

Matt bleeding its all i see, blood gushing like a river and a black eye, a part of me just wanted to hate andrew for doing this to him but matt was the one who started this. ''matthew are you okay?'' i shake his arm , when they take him into the office they make me sit in the front where me and sarah wait impatiently , trying not to think the worst.

''they'll both be fine'' the school nurse comes out ''and their parents were called they should be here in a few'' i help sarah up because shes crying so hard she cant move. the nurse takes a look at her stomach but says nothing.

We both had to go to separate room but i go with sarah first. Andrew lays on the bed as crippled as andrews arms extend waiting for sarah to fill them. but she has her mind set. she stalks up to him and slaps him right across the face leaving a big red hand mark behind. ''how could you?!!'' tears are starting to well up in her eyes as she runs out. im about to follow when a voice behind me says

''it wasn't me'' ''what are you talking about we all saw you!!'' i start raising my voice ''i know but it was ruby i swear,'' he reaches out for my hand and i sit down on the bed ''explain'' ''so i was coming out of the bathroom and shes just standing there, and she freakin latches on and drags me to where sarah is and if i tried to let go she would dig her nails into my arm''

and sure enough his arm is full of claw marks. ''sorry andrew'' i give him a hug ''i just thought it was ----you'' ''i would never do that to sarah, please go out there and tell her im sorry please alex make her understand, please'' i nodd ''i will, i will'' i give him smile then run out to the next room.

''ANDREW YOU SON OF A BITC-'' ''shhhhhh'' i grab matts hand which is cruled up under the cuffs that are attached to the bed, i cup his face and give him a long kiss, hoping it will calm him down ''listen to me'' i put my forehead up against his ''its not his fault'' i explain everything and when i finish his eyes aren't cloudy and he looks guilty ''crap, i fought him over NOTHING''

''don't beat yourself up about it , im sure he would have done the same thing'' he shakes his head and looks away ''im such a retard'' ''your my retard'' he gives me a peck on the cheek ''look your dads gonna come soo and hes probably gonna somehow connect this to me so you have to be strong don't let him push you around-'' ''wait what!!'' ''look your dad is coming he was called to pick you up but it could be worse you could be suspended '' he smiles agreeing but it soon disappears ''what?'' i tilt my head.

''hello matthew'' i turn around and see his dad standing in the doorway wearing a robe and slippers obviously not to happy to be here ''bye '' i whisper and bolt out the door once im outside i find sarah sitting in the front ''sarah listen to me its not his fault '' ''how do you figure?''

she throws off her ring and i race after it hoping its not scratched. i sit back up and start to explain and like matthew guilt is written boldly over her forehead. i hand her the ring and she slips it back on FAST ''i have to say sorry'' she get up and runs to the room and just as matts dad comes out of matts face flushed, but he dosen't hesitate to give me a look thats means back OFF. and guess what old man right back atcha.
