Delha's round face lit up in the dark room as she stared at the computer. She typed away on the keyboard, a hidden smile crept its way onto her lips. Pressing 'send', she waited silently for the bing of a new message.

The message popped up only a minute later, and Delha smiled at the picture of the guy that sent it to her. He wore an orange and blue soccer uniform, his brown hair falling over his pretty face as he kicked a ball.

She had started talking to Beck Holloway two weeks ago, and couldn't wait to meet him. He lived in upstate Nevada, a short thirty minutes away.

She grinned widely at the message in front of her, "I can't wait to see your beautiful face (:".

She eagerly typed back, "Me either. What about over spring break? (:".

Bing! "That sounds perfect."

Delha had just begun typing another message when she heard her mother's voice, "Delha! KT is here!"

"Send her to my room, will you!" She yelled back. She could hear KT's footsteps nearing from the hallway.

Delha's bedroom door opened and KT took a seat in the pink bean bag beside her. "I should have known you'd be on the computer," KT smirked.

"I have my reasons," Delha said in a secretive tone. She turned back to the screen and started typing again.

"Oh yeah?" KT raised a curious eyebrow, "is one of those reasons a boy?"

Delha said nothing and motioned for KT to come closer. KT looked over Delha's shoulder at the ongoing conversation.

When she was done reading, she raised a disapproving eyebrow at Delha, "Del, you don't even know this guy."

Delha sighed. KT had always been the cautious one, looking out for trouble in every situation. "I've been messaging him for two weeks, KT. He says he goes to Glendale and he clearly wears their soccer uniform so...what could it hurt?"

KT still looked skeptical. She stared at the picture of the soccer player on the screen. It did look genuine, not like a photo that had been copied and pasted from Google.

"So you're going to meet this guy some time this week?" KT looked down at her friend.

"Shh..." Delha glanced at the slightly open door and lowered her voice, "my parents can't know. He's older - they would freak."

"What day?" KT asked.

"Wednesday. He said he won't have practice and the whole day is a free day." Delha smiled and her eyes lit up.

"At least come over before so I can fix your hair and makeup," KT grinned and Delha nodded at the suggestion.

After talking for another half hour about Beck, KT said her goodbyes and left for home. Delha had seemed so excited, reading and sending messages back every few seconds.

KT was happy for her. It seemed like Beck made her happy, but suspicion still clouded her thoughts. She walked through the dark night, her face occasionally illuminated by passing streetlights.

When she was finally home, she opened the door and collapsed on the large, soft couch. She heard sizzling in the kitchen and popped her head up over the cushions. "Breakfast for dinner?" Her dad said, flipping bacon with a spatula.

"Sounds good, Dad." She gave him a thumbs up and plopped her head back down on a pillow. Dinner was often breakfast in her house, with her Dad's late work hours.

"Did you have a good time at Delha's?" He asked, breaking her attempt at a nap.

"I always do." She rolled her eyes, not wanting to make small talk at the moment.
