"Yes Sir,... Yes... Will definitely do."
The deputy chief of Special Investigation Department, Chu Shuzi heaved a sigh. He looked around the office at his bunch of misfit colleagues and slumped onto the chair tiredly. He can already feel the oncoming headache of making them work.
A childish whine cut through the otherwise silent room.
"What is it now?", Da Qing pouted at him.
Chu looked with blank expression and informed, "Chief won't be coming for a while. It's not safe."
"Oh..", Da Qing pressed his right cheek on the cold desk and prepared to take a nap. Chu Shuzi looked at other's uninterested expression and pressed, "He gave out tasks to do. I have to report him every night. Don't slack off."
There was no shifting in the room. Zhu Hong, and Lin Jing silently kept playing games on their computer, Wang Zhang smiled sweetly at her cellphone presumably to her lover on phone, and Da Qing started to snore softly. Only the intern Guo Cheng stood uptight whom Chu would rather leave to guard the office door from inside when it's locked and operated only with proper authentication. He heaved a heavy sigh and rubbed his temple. It's a long day ahead.--------------
The corridor gave off a gloomy vibe. Two murders at the short span of two and a half weeks in the premises have shaken the Dragon University quite badly. Professor Shen Wei walked through the almost deserted corridor to his personal office. As the head of the literature department of this university and a human being, he feels pain to remember the victims. The students could be considered hard working and talented in their fields. They were good natured personel too. But there's nothing he can do. Investigators are doing their best. Suddenly feeling burdened, he suppressed a breath. If only....
The professor did not see the new student of his department tailing him who skipped past him casually. He did not see the student stopping at the corner near a potted bushy plant. He definitely did not hear the almost inaudible click of the phone camera targeted towards him. He went inside his office and closed the door.

It was near night curfew time. The university compound was clear from crowds except several night guards and a few students and teachers returning to their dorms. Li Min skipped to her dorm building. While she was upset about the last murder, she also was delighted with today's events. One of the top professors has praised her on her recent assignment. Not to mention the professor is said as a heart throb to the students and also some teachers regardless their gender. On the other hand, he is a cold tempered man, who does not speak if not absolutely necessary. So his remarks held the most weight. She felt giddy but had to stop abruptly.
By some unknown reason, the piece of shadowed path in front felt omnious to her. Trying to suppress the shiver she took a step closer. There was no reason to think over it, right? She goes through this path every day, and this part is always shadowed because of the big tree beside the lamppost. She warily looked at the lighted area ahead and decided to break into a sprint.
But only after a few hasty footsteps, there was a thud and a muffled moan of pain. Everything went back to normal after a few minutes. It was only later at the night when the patrolling night guard came to that area and the bloodied, battered body of the poor girl was discovered. The investigators was called again at the night for another murder.
