*Niall's P.O.V*
"So what's your story?" she asked referring to my tattoos "Do they mean anything in special?" I was having trouble controlling the tension out of my shoulders. Talking about me-especially my past-was way out of my comfort zone.
"Yeah I got this for my 16th Birthday" I say showing the anchor on my arm "It supposed to mean my family. They were my anchor" I also have the rose and dagger tattoo; I got that one after Jessica's funeral. The dagger through the rose is sometimes a harsh reality; other times the union of opposites.
Our dinner came and I quickly dagged in, not wasting time. I was so hungry I could eat a horse. She wanted to know about my family and my course, but I couldn't concentrate on her. I hear one of the guys that whistled at Summer when we came in make a crack about her. I tried to keep my cool for the sake of Summer but It would have bothered me nearly as much if I wasn't with her. Okay, that was a lie. That would have pissed me off whether she was here or not. I was trying not to jump out of my seat and take them at once. As my anger and fury came to a boil, it became harder and harder to concentrate on the conversation.
"Niall don't worry about them" she finally said, gesturing to the rowdy table of hormonics teenagers.
I shook my head. Fury consuming me with every passing moment.
"Really just ignore them" she insisted.
Taking a deep breath, I nodded in agreement and decided to ask another question before she could ask questions about me "so, why did you move here on the first place?"
"Oh, er ...my dad got a promotion on his job and they send him here, which causes me to move as well. Long story short, I was forced to move, I had no other option"
"What about your grandparents? Couldn't you stay with them?"
"Nah, I just had to get away"
"From what?" I ask curiously
"My past"
She was running. I had a feeling when we met. But, why? She got pretty irritated with the personal questions, but before I could changed the subject again, one of the boys from the 'as*holes' table makes a crude remark about her aspect.
I tried to keep my cool and said "so, when are you finishing school?"
Summer opened her moth to give me there answer but she was cut off by the chuckles and asshole comments from the guys. They all started to laugh and start to add more things up. She looks up at me and gives me a fake smile. That's it, I couldn't take it anymore. They were disrespecting Summer .As they started to stand up to leave. They traded one last joke before I stood up and took a few steps towards them. Those in the back of the group started to push those in the front, shoving each other out of the door, tripping and stumbling over their own feet.
Summer's eyes were penetrated to the back of my head, while I tried my best not to follow them and get into trouble. I turned around and planted myself back in the booth. Forcing the frustration and anger away the best I could.
"What was that for?" she asks, surprise was clearly hear in her tone
"They were been d*cks to you" I prompted. She smiled and raised an eyebrow, and immediately my frustration melted away.
"Thank you Niall" she says while grabbing my hand on hers and giving it a little squeeze.
"So you were saying about school" I said, pretending that little sideshow never existed.
