I had left Demetri alone for a bit going to my office but my father caught me on the way up. "Hello," I said to him.

"Hello Izzy. How is number 8642 doing?"

"He woke up quicker then expected. Did the interview. He was reluctant at first but then gave in and answered questions. Explained the ankle monitor on him and gave him the pill," I said.

"Where are you going you should be there observing him," he said.

"Im going to my office so I can grab the lists of tests That I would feel would be appropriate for him," I replied.

"You need to start it today," he said.

"You left me in charge with this case so I say when I start. I dont want him attacking and killing me so I want to make sure the pills have been in his symtoms for 24 hours before I start," I said.

"Izzy," his voice hard.

My mother walked passed. "I think she is right. He is strong and could easily hurt us if not properly medicated," she said.

"Fine," He said and walked away.

"How is he?" My mother asked.

"He is different from the others. He still has compassion and humanity unlike others I have encountered. Shows emotions sadness, fear, its unlike anything Ive seen," I said.

"Would you like to meet him?"

"Yes," she said.

I looked down for a moment. "Why is father so mean to me? Ive done everything you have always asked. He is angry with me 24/7. What did I do wrong?" I whispered.

"Nothing sweetie," she touched my shoulder. "Youre doing amazing here. You make sure your subjects stay alive. You show the most compassion here which gives the subjects a will to keep going. Your father is angry because he cant do the same as you. You're doing everything right," she said and hugged me tightly kissing my head. "If you ever need to talk about anything I am always here,"

"Thank you mom," I whispered quietly.

"Of course my sweet girl," she said.

I smiled at it and went over to Demetris room and unlocked the door. "Hello Demetri. This is my mother. She helps run this place."

Demetri sat up. It had looked as if he had been crying.

"Hello," was all he said.

"Its nice to meet you. I do promise you that my daughter will take care of you. You are lucky to have her on your case," she said and moved over.

"Can I ask a few questions?" Demetri asked.

"Of course," she said sitting down.

"What will you guys do to me? Will I be killed? I-if you decide to kill me or if I die can I contact my family to say goodbye?" His voice broke.

My mother looked surprised at his reaction.

"What happens to you will be decided by Izzy. The first test it to how long you can withstand our blood as that will determine what category you go in," she said.

"I wont kill you. Youre under my care and I never kill anyone. So please dont worry about that okay?" I said.

"Okay," he whispered.

I moved over and touched his hand. "I know its scary but you'll make it," I said.

He looked down and layed back down. "Ill check on you soon Demetri," I said.

My mother and I left the room. "Told you he was different,"

"Indeed," she said.

She bent down to whisper in my ear. "Ill adjust his chart. I want to mark how he lowly took the first test so we can do not as severe so we can prolong his stay as long as possible," she whispered.

I nodded. "How would you like me to proceed?"

"As if he was a level 3 subject," she said.

"Okay thank you. I will collect the list for level 3 testing," I said. "And Ill prepare for the first test tomorrow."

She nodded.

I headed to my office and took out papers from a file drawer and grabbed all the papers and set them down on the next. Then I got up and headed to the supply closet and grabbed a kit to draw my blood. I sat sown on the couch in there and inserted the needle and hooked it up to an empty blood bag. I rested back as The bag filled. I took out the needle and put it in the fridge which was in my room.
