*No One's POV*

It is a nice beautiful morning at the Owings' Ranch. Across from the men's bunkhouse, there are rows of tables filled with men eating homemade pancakes before heading off into the fields in the blazing hot sun. Slim James, Candy Webber, and Carlson Hall are enjoying their delicious pancakes as they're talking, soon the 'girls of the ranch' as most workers called them are joining breakfast. "Morning fellas", "Morning guys", "Morning gents" greeted the woman. "Morning Lion, Aqua, and Holy" Candy greeted back for the other two men. "So when do you think the newcomers come?" Coral asks before taking a bite of her pancakes. "I don't know, but I hope they didn't arrive later or your pa is gonna be extra pissed" Carlson answered. The rest of the table is nodding in agreement. They sat in silence before Ari spoke up "So what do you think Pearly is gonna do?" Everyone's face began to scrunch up at the thought of Curley's two-week wife and Coral's two-week sister-in-law. Why is everyone cringed at the thought of Curley's wife, well put in a blunt way she's a tart. A tart is a woman who dresses or behaves in a way that suggests she wants to have sex with a lot of different people. Every worker either tries to get away knowing the consequences Curley has for them or flirting back and being beaten up/canned. Every smart worker didn't like Pearly Owings neither did the girls like her either. The reason why they don't like her is that she's not only a tart but she doesn't do work. Coral, Ari, and Katty like to work around the ranch, they didn't care if they get their hands dirty all they care about is getting the job done. Meanwhile, Pearly just walks around flirting or just sitting down somewhere waiting for someone to come by. "She's probably be 'looking' for Curley when the newcomers gonna come," Slim said theoretically. Then there was a bang, the bang was so loud it startled everyone. "Uh-oh, your Pa is coming Coral" Katty pointed towards the Owings house to see a man in his 50's storming his way to the dining tables. "GET THE FUCK TO WORK, YOU FUCKERS I DIDN'T HIRE YOU TO SIT AROUND AND EAT PANCAKES!!" Anthony Owings shouted to everyone terrified of him, " NOW GET TO WORK!!" Then turned around and went back inside. Everyone does not hesitate to get up and head out in the fields to work their butts off. "The newcomers better come or everyone is dealing hell" Candy whispered as he and Shard headed towards the chicken coop. 'This is gonna be a long day everyone thought miserably as they got in the wagons.

                               *two hours later*
*No one's POV*

"So I was thinking maybe we can go to the tree after we're done" Ari suggest as she pulled a bag of grains into a wagon. "Alright, we need some nice cool shades" "ok I'm in the mood to draw a bit" Coral and Katty agreed needing something to cool off. "Hey girls, we need some new bridles and some got snapped" Slim requested. "Sure thing" "okay" I can do that" the girls agreed. They walked back and luckily so far neither Curley nor Pearly walked up to them. "Hey look girls, the newcomers are here" Coral points to her front yard. Four men are standing there talking to Candy. "It looks like we got ourselves some triplets" Katty remarked. Katty is right, three men look like they have the same hairstyle. One man looked average height, one looked five inches taller, and the other is the tallest one out of the triplets. But the triplets are with another man. The man is taller than the triplets. "C'mon we have the bridles" Ari spoke up. The girls agreed.

*One hour later*

"Whew, what a day!" Ari said as she took off her hat. "Yea" Coral agrees. "RACE YA TO THE TREE!" Katty yelled as she sped off. "HEY" "NO FAIR," said Ari, and Coral began to chase the shortest girl. Slim chuckle and start to head to his bunkhouse where he's been living for four years. Just before he got to the door Curley's wife walked out. "Hey Slim" Pearly smiled flirting. He replied with silence then said, "Aren't you gonna let me get past" Pearly looked annoyed by the fact Slim still didn't fall for her. Pearly just walk away knowing Slim just wanted to go inside. Slim shook his head then walk in being hit by some cool air. Slim suddenly saw the newcomers and Candy. "Hey Candy" greets Slim. "Hey Slim, these are the newcomers" Candy greeted back. "These guys are triplets" Candy pointed to the three men who looked the same. "That's George Milton the oldest," pointed to the man with an average height "Oliver Milton the second born," pointing to the man whose height is five inches taller than George "and Noah Milton the youngest," point to the man whose eight inches taller than George and three inches taller than Oliver. "This is Lennie Small, he travels with the triplets" Candy pointing at the man who seems to be taller than all men combined. "Nice to meet you, I'm Slim James" Slimy introduced as he put his hand out. "Nice to meet 'cha" George took Slim's hand. "I saw Pearly walked out," said Slim, while he let go of George's hand. "Yea, is she always like a tart?" Asked Noah. "Yea, ever since she moved here after marrying Curley" Candy said while rolling his eyes."But luckily for us, she's not the only woman on this ranch" Slim speaks. "Really, Who are they?" Oliver intrigued. Before either Slim or Candy could talk, 'the girls of the ranch' walked in chuckling. Slim sighed and said, "Let me guess someone tried to boss you around while trying to relax at your tree". The girls nodded but then noticed the newcomers. "Are they the newcomers Slim?" questioned Katty. "Yeah, that's George Milton, Oliver Milton, Noah Milton (they're triplets), and their friend Lennie small" Slim introduces as he points to the man he's talking about. "Okay we know they know our names but what are their names?" Ask George. "Oh right, the girl in the middle is Coral Owings (boss' daughter), Ari Webber (my granddaughter), and Katty James (Slim's little sister)" Slim Candy introduced while pointing to the respective girl. "They're pretty" commented Lennie. The triplets turned and looked sharply at him. "Aw, that's a nice thing about us Lennie" "Thanks" "You are the kindest newcomer ever" the girls thanking the nice giant. "Hey, I got a question why are you three girls dirty?" Said Noah. "Oh, we've been out in the fields" explained Ari. The triplets then suddenly looked confused. "Oh, I forgot to mention these girls help with the workers around the ranch" classify Candy. "Help, how?" The triplets still looked confused. "We helped with putting grains into the wagons-" "And help feed the animals" Katty butted in interrupting Coral. "Shush Katty" Coral mocking scolded. Katty puts her tongue playfully. "Anyway, it's time for you guys to eat," Ari told the guys ignoring the little playful argument with Coral and Katty. "You're not gonna eat?" Candy ask worriedly. " Nah grandad, we ate too much this morning" Ari tries to reassure her grandfather. "Well alright, but we're gonna save some for you girls," Slim told the girls with the same worrying face as Candy. "Okay Slim, the girls and I will be at our tree," said Coral. The girls turned to the newcomers. "It was nice to meet you, fellas," Katty said kindly before walking out of the bunkhouse with the other girls. "C'mon guys, we better get moving or we're gonna get
no food" Slim reckon the guys to get something to eat. "Give us a minute" George responds. "Okay" "See ya at the dining hall" then Slim, Candy, and Shard walk out.

•Okay first things first, the pictures at the top are just gonna be characters that I'm remaking or that I made up and wasn't in mice and men. The guy in the picture is the closest to what I thought Lennie would look like. Also, I'm gonna have a posting pattern. So after I post this chapter I don't start the third chapter the next day. But the day after tomorrow I'll start working on chapter three and if I didn't finish the chapter I'll work on it the next day and it will be mostly finished by then. It will repeat over and over again. Got it? Okay, so I'll talk to you guys in chapter three•
