At Helm’s Deep, everyone was getting ready for the upcoming War. Whether King Théoden liked it happening or not.

“Draw all our forces behind the wall. Bar the gate, and set a watch on the surround.” King Théoden ordered as he turned to his second in command Gamling.

“What of those who cannot fight, my lord? The women and children?” Gimling asked him as hesitated for a few moments.

“Get them into the caves.” The King spoke as he began to walks down the steps and past a sewer gate, as he kept talking with Gamling.

“Saruman's arm would have grown long indeed if he thinks he can reach us here.” He spoke confidently as they nodded and went to do their duties.

Pippin and I have been travelling through the forest, carried by Treebeard. On his shoulders, as in the distance we could see smoke rising from the south.

“Look! There’s smoke to the south!” Pippin called as I strained to get a better look, but I couldn’t.

“There is always smoke rising from Isengard these days.” Treebeard spoke as if it was nothing.

“Isengard?” I gulped. With that Pippin and I climbed as high as we could onto Treebeard’s head. Getting a better view over the tops of the Forest.

“There was a time when Saruman would walk in my woods. But now he has a mind of metal and wheels. He no longer cares for growing things.” Treebeard spoke sadly. We watched from the top of Treebeard and we saw a massive army moving across the land. I gasped as they moved with speed and you could hear their faint chanting, as they went.

“What is it?” Pippin asked me unsure as I gulped with my eyes glued to the army leaving Isengard.

“It’s Saruman’s army! The war has started.” I whispered as Pippin gasped beside me, as we watched the army move further away from us. I do hope that Sarah’s is alive.

I felt myself in the water of the river. I felt my unconscious body being turned over, as I felt my horse Brego, nuzzling me, to get up. I could hear him beside me lie down as I grabbed hold of his mane. I struggled to pull myself onto Brego. I was weak and tired as he got up.

“Brego…” I mumbled, as we rode slowly to Helms Deep. I do hope Sarah is ok, she plunged towards the water before me, I hope she alive. The fall should have killed me. limply as I rode my way towards Helm’s Deep. On the way, I sees an enormous Uruk-hai army marching with great speed. I quickly makes haste towards Helm’s Deep and soon sees the refuge. I gave a sigh of relief, as I patted Brego on the neck.

“Mae carnen, Brego, mellon nîn. (Well done, Brego, my friend)” I whispered to him as he neighed. The guards opened the gates, as I rode into Helm’s Deep to the amazement of all. I could hear people gasping and smiling as I made my way up towards the high chambers.

“He’s alive!” They kept calling.

“Where is he? Where is he? Get out of the way. I’m gonna kill him!” I heard the angry voice of Gimli, as I gave a weak chuckle. He finally pushed his way through the crowd towards me as I smiled down at him.

“You are the luckiest, the canniest and the most reckless man I ever knew!” He smiled as he pulled me into a hug and patted my back.

“Bless you, laddie!” He whispered as I pulled away and looked at him.

“Gimli, where is the king?” I demanded as Gimli gestures to the hall. As I made my way in, I runs into Legolas who stands waiting.

“Le ab-dollen. (You’re late.)” He spoke to me as we smiled. Legolas pauses and looks at my wounds.
