Chapter 3: into town

Merlins POV:

What a nuisance, not only did I save her, but now I have to put up with her in my own house? Great, just great. Hans just finished making dinner, it's shepherd's pie. I have to admit Hans is an amazing cook. We all sit down to begin eating when Jack starts talking.

"Merlin would you mind getting y/n, tell her dinner is ready"

"Fine" I say begrudgingly, I knock on the door and wait for a second before she opens it.

"Yes?" she asks,

"Cmon dinner is ready" I point my head to the kitchen, she nods and follows me to sit down and eat. After a few minutes of playful banter y/n brings something up.

"So I have an issue, I have a few things I need to get from my old house. And I'm not sure how to get there without getting caught"

"Yeah that is quite a problem, any ideas fellas?" Arthur looks around.

"Hey Merlin, haven't you been working on a new spell, the disguise one?" (by the way if you didn't know, Merlin is based on the wizard Merlin. Look it up) Pino asks me.

"Yes but I'm still just experimenting and I'm not exactly sure how it'll work and when it wears off" I answer annoyed.

"Don't you have to go into town anyway? We need some more food just try it, worst case you'll have to run" Pino continues. I look around to see if anyone disagrees but nope. I look at y/n and she's giving me puppy eyes, dammit.

"Alright alright, but don't say I didn't warn you. Don't see why we're helping a criminal" I mumbled. Y/n just glares at me.

We finish eating and everyone thanks Hans for the meal.

"Before you do the spell, y/n let me change you a bit. Give you a new outfit and hair alright?"  Jack says before grabbing y/n and disappearing with her for a few minutes.

They soon return and Jack reveals y/n makeover, wow she looks...

"What do you think? Hmm?" jack asks,

"Meh she's alright" I reply,

"Excuse you" y/n furrows her brows and gives me a glare,

"Seriously-" I interrupture jack,

"Listen we don't have all day let's get going", I take y/n aside and begin to look in my spell book trying to find the spell.

"Whatcha doin?" y/n looks over my shoulder, I roll my eyes. She's really starting to get on my nerves.

"looking for the spell, obviously"

"Oh ok cool, no need to be so rude" she replies,

I roll my eyes again "Ah ha! Got it" I write the spell on a paper and slap it on her forehead. I don't really have to do that but she doesn't know that. Besides, I deserve some kind of fun right?

"OW" she yells,

"You're fine, brace yourself" I say before I clap my hands and a white light surrounds y/n. After a few moments there isn't much of a difference.

"The spell works so that you look like a totally different person to everyone other than the people I choose, and I chose me and the other six" I explained to her. She gives me a puzzled look and says

"So like cinderella?"

"No it's very complicated wizard stuff that you wouldnt understand" I say in defense, she laughs and I just look at her.

"Stop looking at me like that. Let's get going, the market closes soon" she says and starts to walk out the door. What do you mean don't look at me like that, how was I looking at you? I shake my head and follow after her.

As we walk we start to talk,

"So what's it like being a hero?" y/n asks

"What do you mean?" I ask

"You know, what's it like going on epic adventures, saving princesses, risking your life" she explains excitedly.

"It's a rush, very exhilarating and fun. Very rewarding, there's nothing else I would wanna do" I answer smiling.

"Man I wish I could be a hero like that" she says, I scoff at this

"But girls can't be heroes, they're supposed to be damsels in distress" 

She looks at me in disgust, "Are you serious? Is that what you think of girls?"Clearly angry. 

Did I say something wrong? I've never met a woman that's a hero. And most of the people we save are girls?

"I mean it's true, it's how it's always been" I answer.

"I can't believe you right now ''  she says, Why is she getting mad at me right now? I just told the truth. Right then before she can continue, we arrive at the town.

"We'll talk about this later. I'm gonna go get my stuff, don't bother me" and with that y/n storms off.

"Whatever" I grumble under my breath. I walk around the market to buy some fruits before a few ladies come and greet me. Hell yea. Me and them have a nice chat, they're all gorgeous, I look over and notice y/n is talking to some guys, they look like they're flirting. Please, Who would wanna flirt with her? She's such a pain.

She looks at me then quickly looks away. After a few more minutes of talking with the girls from the village I buy some fruits and start to walk toward y/n when I notice wanted posters of her everywhere.

"Let's get going" I try to take y/n with me to leave but she doesn't move.

"Give me a few more minutes," she says stubbornly.

"Princess Incase you havent noticed there are wanted posters of you everywhere" I whisper.

"Oh sh*t-" were interrupted by an older looking gentleman.

"Hey isn't that you? He points to the wanted poster, me and y/n look at eachother in a panic,

"The spell wore off!" we yell before I grab y/n's arm and we bolt.

"GUARDS ITS HER!!" the man from earlier yells to the guards and they start to chase after us,

"God dammit" I say under my breath and we start sprinting faster.
