fall season

soft september breeze brushes against my face
wind chimes ring my ears
laughter of children, swinging at the park
it's that time of the season
a bittersweet feeling
goodbye to long hot days
and hello to short cold days
leaves start to change
slowly falling to the ground
i remember the days we sat together
in cold windy days
inner everlasting peace
pure happiness
sun rays piercing your smile
your face as round as a pumpkin
eyes like two sides of the moon
you froze in that moment like a picture
in my head, you never left
you smelled like apple cinnamon
and tasted like cigarettes
"i could stay here forever"
but the strong winds blew you away
the fall leaves turned horribly brittle
the sun never came out again
i never saw you again
