Chapter 3

Max's POV

I was running in the woods with my best friend, Jake. When a scent came into our nose. Rogue. Me and Jake shared a look. He nodded his head, meaning he also smell it.

We both followed the scent. A girl came into our view, she was walking around and she sat under a tree. She has long light brown hair, bright blue eyes, and small pink lips. She was pretty, but I have a mate back home so yeah I'm taken.

'Man, she's hot!' Jake said through the mind link.

'But what is she doing here?'

'Don't know'

I growled at her since we were just a few feet away. She jump to her feet and her eyes scanned the area until it landed on me.

She doesn't even look suprised, she was about to say something but closed her mouth again and turn around. I was confused at first but then I heard heavy footsteps.

A guy came into our view, and was running towards the girl. I let out a small growl thinking he was with her, but they seemed to not heard me.

"Who are you?" The girl asked the guy who was catching his breath. So she doesn't know him. That's wierd.

His eyes landed on mine and I could see a flash of fear in it. "I see you've got company." He smirk at the girl.

"What do you want?" I can tell that she was irritated.

'Should we call Aaron?' Jake asked.

'Nah, I think we can handle this.' I told him.

The guy pulled out a gun and aimed it at me. Before I can react, he pulled the trigger. Suddenly the girl stepped infront of me and she got shot in her side.

"Shit!" She yelled in pain.

She seem to be ignoring the pain, since she knelt down and snuck her hand into one of her boots. She reach out a dagger, and she quickly throw it the guy whitch it hit his forehead. He fell down and died.

'Woah, you ok there?' Jake asked me concerned

'Yeah, I'm fine. But why did she save me?'

'I don't know man, but as long as the bullet isn't silver, she should be fine'

The girl looked behind her shoulder, and smirk at me. I growled at her.

"Look I'm sorry for trespassing, but that guy was stalking me so I have to loose him." She said, pointing to the dead body.

Now I'm really confuse, why was that guy stalking her, I thought to myself.

I look at the girl again and she was about to leave but as soon as she took a step, she fell to her knees. She was holding her side, so that means the bullet is silver. She suddenly fainted.

Me and Jake shifted. And we put some clothes on.

"What are we going to do with her?" Jake asked.

"We take her back to the pack house and let her heal there." I said while carrying her bridal style. I look at her side, her clothes were stained with blood.

"I mind link Aaron, I told him that were coming back with a suprise." He said smirking.

"Well, we better get back and see if he like his suprise." Then we took of running to the pack house.
