My cursed mouth makes a guttural sound, and I let out a few colorful words as I see the blonde hair that's been on loop in my mind.

"Oh my god, he was right there the entire time," Soorin says, voicing my exact thoughts.

Leila looks at me.

Leila's friend looks at me.

Soorin looks at me.

"What?" I ask, shying away from all the stares.

"Talk to him!" Leila says, as if it's the easiest thing ever.

"Agh, what do I say?"

"Just say 'Hi, I'm Eunbi, and I just wanted to say sorry for bumping into you this morning'," Soorin raises her hands in a gesture that seems to say 'Duh!'

I'm scared, my anxiety running through all the worst possible outcomes.

But it can't hurt to try, right?

I walk over to my seat, dragging Soorin with me, head high.

When we sit, I tap JS on his shoulder and say, "Hi, I'm Eunbi, and I'm sorry for bumping into you this morning," in a big clash of words.

JS turns to me and recognizes me in an instant.

"Oh, no, that was entirely my fault. I'm Jaerin, and I wasn't watching where I was going," he says sheepishly.

"No, it's my fault, I should've stayed on the right."

"Yeah, but I-"

Soorin heaves a huge sigh. "Guys. It was no one's fault. Now shut up and start eating."

I cower under Soorins glare and get back to my salad, pretending not to notice Jaerin stealing glances at me.
