The sound of rapid hooves jolted me out of my misery, it seemed far but fast approaching my direction. Hurriedly, I went outside and stood in front of my house, perking my ears up to get more valid sounds.

Soon enough, the sound of hooves closed in on me and stopped abruptly. A gigantic brown wolf emerged out of the woods surrounding my house and with calculated steps entered the front yard of the house. From his size and his aura that was perfectly oozing command and authority, I had no doubts that he was the Alpha of the pack. The wolf bowed his head to me and then shifted into his human form.

"Hi, Lumino," he said in a deep voice and bowed slightly to me again.

The sound of cracking bones sounded right after he greeted me, zipping my mouth shut from responding, then about a dozen of his pack members emerged from their hiding places to stand behind their Alpha.

"Hi" I responded in a monotone voice after I was sure they were all over with whatever shifting phase they were going to go through "And what is going on here?"

"I'll skip the introductions as I'm sure you know me alr-"

" Yes, I do know you" I paused " Alpha Clent Sair" I added.

"Alright then" he smiled "Can I please have a word with you?" He requested.

"And why would I do that?" I gave a dry chuckle.

The moment the words fell out of my mouth, snickers and hateful murmurs broke out and I sure didn't miss the harsh glares directed at me but I cared less about them. I just wanted them to go back to where they came from, simple. And there was no way I was entertaining them, especially after their soon-to-be Alpha made it clear to me that I could never be welcomed.

"Please, just a few seconds and we'll all be gone, please" Alpha Clent pressed on.

I contemplated for a bit, I have been already rude to him especially considering his position as the Alpha, right in front of most of the pack members. I bet I was gonna be the dead meat of his pack council if they were to be around, the least I could do was to hear him out besides, he was on my turf anyways.

"Follow me" I beckoned my head as I turned to go inside the house and he trailed behind me.

Closing the door with a soft thud after he entered and of course, me preventing the others from entering, sat down on the floor with crossed legs shooting him an impatient look.

"Shall we get this over with?"

"Of course, Lu" he began and I'm sure he missed the cringe I made when he voiced out my nickname, a name only family was supposed to call "I'm sure you might have guessed already the reason for my visit" he stopped, gauging for a reaction from me.

"About Greg and me?" A question wasn't really what I was going for but then again, there were a whole lot of reasons why an Alpha would want to see someone like me.

"Correct" he smiled "To be more precise, we are here to apologize and to ask you to reconsider any decision you might have made concerning my son" His voice was surprisingly calm and soothing and less monotone. It was totally different than most Alphas.

I sighed and suddenly found a particular place on my face itchy "With all due respect, your son made it very clear to me that I could never be his mate and I'm not ready for someone who doesn't want me" I swallowed a huge lump in my throat "So if this is about us then I'll ask you to leave if there are no perturbing matters"

I thought Alpha Clent was going to be offended but he surprised me yet again with another beam and a chuckle "That brings me to the main point of this conversation, how about we make a deal?"
