Once Steve heard how upset his wife was he quickly excused himself and went back to his office where he could talk to her more privately.

"Baby, what's wrong" he asked concerned

"I- it's T-on-y" she stuttered as she was trying to keep from crying

"Baby, calm down. What happened to Tony" he asked trying to calm down the red head

"He's at the hospital. Can you pick me up" she replied

"Yeah. I'll be there in ten minutes" he stated before he hung up the phone and walked towards the door

As Steve arrived home Natasha was waiting for him on the front porch with tears in her emerald green eyes. Natasha quickly ran to the car when she saw it come into view and sat in the passenger seat. Once she was buckled in Steve began driving. It was silent for a while till until Steve decided to break it.

"What happened to Tony" he asked softly with a hint of concern in his tone

"He was in an accident" she replied with tears still running down her cheek's

"He's gonna-" before Steve could finish Natasha interrupted

"Don't you dare say he's gonna be okay. You don't know that" she said sternly

Steve glanced at the red head with a sympathetic look before looking back towards the road. Once at the hospital Natasha quickly spotted Clint, Laura and Pepper quickly ran twords them with Steve close behind her.

"Have you heard anything" Natasha asked concerned

"He's in surgery now" Pepper replied with tears in her eyes

"Surgery?" Natasha asked confused

"Yeah. It's nothing to serious. He should be out in a few hours" Pepper replied reassuringly even though it looked as if she was the one who needed it

Natasha nodded

Steve pulled his wife into his embrace and kissed her forehead. As he was about to pull away Natasha's grip tightened around his torso and he looked down at the red head who had her cheek against his chest.

"I want to stay like this" she whispered

"Okay" he whispered back with a small smile lacing his lips

After a few hours, the doctor walked out into the waiting area. "Stark" the doctor called and the family all stood up from their seats

"How is he" Clint asked concerned and curiously

"He just got out of surgery. He needs to rest but he should be up in a few hours" the doctor replied "I'll have my nurse come out whenever he's awake. So you can see him" he added

They all nodded and the doctor walked away to go help his other patients.

"See. I told you, everything is gonna be okay" Steve said as he turned to face his red headed beauty

She gave him a sad smile and nodded

The nurse came out a few hours later. Telling them that they could go back now. They all walked back to the room to find Tony on the hospital bed. He looked pretty bad, but as soon as Natasha walked in he put on his signature smirk.

"You miss me" he asked looking at the red head

Natasha rolled her eyes as she walked over to him and playfully punched him in the arm before pulling him into a tight hug.

"Wow, you really did miss me" he said in shock after a few minutes

Natasha pulled away and they all chuckled.

That night
At the house,

As Steve walked out of the bathroom and was headed to bed he noticed that Natasha was already asleep. Instead of waking her up Steve decided just to lay in bed beside her. He didn't even notice he had fallen asleep until he heard Natasha calling him with worry in her tone.
