I press the button on the coffee machine.

My hearts thumping.

The machine starts.

I focus on the noise as the machine develops the liquid.

I gently pull the coffee away when it's done.

I place it onto the counter.

"Sage."

His deep voice rings throughout my ears.

"Piss. Off."

The two words spill from my dry mouth, my pulse quickens.

"Take your fucking back coffee and leave." I demand, not making eye contact.

He left us.

He left me to deal with all the shit.

He slips a small note onto the counter and walks out of the door.

'Tonight, 8pm. Meet me at the casino'

Shit.

"Everything okay?" One of the other workers asks.

Fuck no.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I replied, digging my nails into my palm whilst holding back my anger.

I quickly dash into the staff room and bump into Saint. This is not what I need right now.

"Can I get a breath of fresh air quickly?" I asked, his eyes fill with concern.

"Yeah, are you oka-"

If one more fucking person asks if I'm okay-

I push open the metal back door, rushing out and taking a deep breath of the cool air.

I lean against the wall, running my fingers throughout my chocolate-coloured hair.

"Fuck" I quietly muttered to myself, squeezing my eyes shut.

Nobody would ever understand the feeling of someone you used to love, returning back into you're life and pretending like it's all okay.

Because it's not.

I know I need to see him, and I will.

But holy shit he's not ready for the storm I'm about to create.

5pm.

I say goodbye to the other workers and take my apron off, quickly grabbing my things and rushing out the door.

And guess who I fucking bump into AGAIN.

Saint.

"Are you stalking me?" I immediately asked, looking up at his tall figure.

"No. I'm returning to the place I own?"
