If you'd known that your family outing would have ended up like this, you might have stayed home. Shoto Todoroki, your husband, was fending off an onslaught of villains, while you maintained your distance with the children, ensuring that they were safe. It was supposed to be a simple family picnic, but once a nearby alarm sounded, Shoto had burst into action. Both of you had the day off, but being a hero didn't exactly have vacation time attached.

Baby Fuyumi, lovingly named after Shoto's dear sister, had fallen fast asleep in your arms. You pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head, rocking her softly and hoping that she wouldn't wake from the battle. Her brown hair with small red highlights stood on end, a reaction to your quirk circling you and the children. The mirror identical twins, Koshiro and Kioshi, stood firm in front of you, protecting their mother even at this young age. They'd just turned five, but they had the same resolve and strength as their father at such a young age. Half white hair, half brown, with a vivid blue streak separating the part. They'd inherited a part of each of your quirks, and the quirk had manifested just a year ago. Both you and Shoto ensured that they had enough time to be kids, but also made sure they were trained to keep control of their powers. Koshiro could freeze time, and Kioshi could create anything he thought of into ice. At the moment, Koshiro was stopping flying debris from reaching you, while Kioshi had created a small ice barrier for your protection.

Shoto was struggling to fend off so many adversaries at one time; however, you were afraid to leave the children to help. As a Pro Hero too, you could have jumped in just as fast. But, keeping the children safe was far more important. You did what you could with your mind quirk, focusing on ushering pedestrians out of the way of danger. Your quirk strained under the split of focus.

Abruptly, Shoto was blown out of the air and would have crashed to the floor had you not caught him with your quirk. He winced as you set him down gently. You saw him mouth the words, "thank you," before his fire quirk blazed to life. He bolted back into the fray.

Worry washed through you. It had been over ten minutes now, and you hadn't seen any backup. As high in the rankings Shoto was, anyone would have trouble fighting so many villains. You shuddered in a breath when a twinge of pain struck your temple. You staggered. Koshiro noticed you falter. His one gray and one green eye met your hazel ones, and you smiled to reassure him. Kioshi's hand was on your leg, trying to steady you quietly.

"Mommy is okay," you said, readjusting Fuyumi on your hip.

Suddenly, Koshiro's eyes widened, and fear struck his features. You turned, hiding his small form behind you, while also covering baby Fuyumi with a blanket of mind energy. The knife sunk into your abdomen, and you hissed out in pain before sending a mind blast at the man. The knife left with him, pulling back out of your body. You hissed in pain, covering the wound with your fingers.

"Mom!" Koshiro and Kioshi shouted.

"I'm okay," you reassured them. "I'm—" You cut yourself off when you felt vibrations rumbling through your body. You turned, only to see a villain pointing his palm in the direction of you and your boys. You let go of your wound, long enough to wrap the twins in your free arm. You shut your eyes, forming a protective barrier with your mind quirk around them.
