"You said I have powers too. What are they?''

"You have many. I activated them when you were out. Go on, try it. Conjure something.'' Aanya stared at him for a second before putting her hand out in front of her and closing her eyes. She had no idea what to do and was just ballparking it at the moment. She focused hard on the book she was just reading. She concentrated. A light flashed in front of her and a second later her book appeared in her hand, unscathed.

"Good, you did it!"

"What do you want?" Aanya asked warily.

"All I want is to prevent a future that will devastate many elves. You can prevent that. Just do what I tell you. Ask any one question. I can see the future."

After Aanya's brain processed all of this information, she was allowed to ask one question. She thought about it for a while.... And finally decided on this:

"What will happen to everyone if I didn't choose to be an elf...like, would anyone die?"

Mr. Forkle was unsure. He could answer this question, but he would have to use the power of seeing the future, which he could only use once. Ever. Yet he had promised her that she could ask one question and if he could answer it, he would.

He used his ability and saw Kenric burning in Oblyvimyre. He saw Oralie's devastation, how the council fell apart slowly, and turned against Sophie. If Aanya didn't come to the elven world, there would be chaos, and the council would turn against the Black Swan, losing valuable time.

He told this to Aanya, and she decided to come. Mr. Forkle said they would be in touch, and he glittered away, leaving Aanya wondering if she hallucinated. Moments later, her family walked in with food from Taco Bell, oblivious to who she truly was.
