Vanessa had spotted Harry before I had. I was impressed how quickly she had done so. After last night, or earlier this morning, she was head over heels for him. I'm not going to lie, he's attractive and decent. I don't see why Vanessa shouldn't like him.
She pulls me by the arm and drags me across the night club. What leaves me dumbfounded is that she spotted him from afar. And it's not because of her being one inch taller than me.
"Harry!" Much less the back of his head. I'm starting to get worried.
"Hey! You made it" He shouts over the pounding Metallica. I don't see why Vanessa had chosen this place. It's scary, and it reeks of cigarettes and alcohol.
"There's the birthday girl!" Harry smiles at me and nudges the guy next to him. When he turns around and straightens his back he isn't much taller than Harry but alright for his height. He's got messy brown hair and bright eyes, when he looks at me he smiles. His smile charming.
"This is the girl you were talking about. Finally twenty-one I heard" He himself also has an accent. I wonder how many more there are of them.
"Louis this is Maisie. Maisie, Louis" Louis brings his hand out in front of me, and as soon I take it with my own he pulls me in for a hug. I was startled but I give in. I wasn't at all expecting a hug from a stranger.
"Is this your first time in a club?" He asks when I pull away.
"Um yeah, embarrassing as it is but I wasn't allowed before I was of age" I say nervously.
"Strict parents?" I shift from foot to foot as I shake my head no.
"Never had an interest" Louis smiles at me again. Flashing me his white teeth. I like him already, and I can tell we'll be getting along just fine.
"Do you want a drink? On me" He's flirty but kind. I can't help but smile back and nod my head at his offer.
Louis turn around and talks to the bartender. When I look at Harry and Vanessa, I can see they are hitting it off. Vanessa has a big bright smile, much happy than she was before when we were on our way here.
"Here" Louis grabs my attention and hands me a glass. I don't know what it is and I become getting anxious not knowing what type of drink it is. Or if it has anything to make me go nuts, or faint.
"It's vodka" Louis reads my thoughts. Am I thinking too loudly? "Here, take it before or after you drink that" He hands me a slice of green lemon. I notice it shines brightly with beads and realize it has salt. Or... Damnit Maisie just drink that damn thing.
I do as I tell myself and take a bite of the lemon and quickly swallow the vodka. It stings through my chest but after a while I feel amazing. Like floating on cool water that relaxes my muscles.
"So Maisie, why do I get the feeling that you sound so familiar?" Louis leans back. His elbows on the bar and his waist between two stools.
"I don't know, I've never met you or seen you before. I don't see how you could know me" I shrug my shoulders.
"It was just the way Harry was talking about you, he said your name and I couldn't put my finger on it" He explains. Looking at him now I hadn't realized how his features were structured. His jaw is defined, his eyes look beautiful, and his face is cleanly shaved. Why are all the good looking men from the U.K.
"Maybe you know a lot of girls with the name Maisie" Louis narrows his eyes at me almost as if I have offended him.
"You calling me a player?" He chuckles lightly. "I'm going to tell you now that I'm not that type of guy, and I know that you are the only girl I've met with the name Maisie" I make my way to the seat next to him. And cross my arms over my chest.
"Why would you think that I think of you that way?" I ask.
"I don't why would you think that of me?" He smirks.
"Maybe because you come off as that type of guy" Louis laughs throwing his head back. His Adam's apple in the air and as soon as he stops he orders us another drink.
"Listen honey not at all good looking guys are players. Your coming off to be a judgmental person" I scoff and hit his arm as he continues to laugh at me.
"I'm no judgmental person, I happen to get to know a person first before I judge. It's how it works" I say proudly. Our drinks arrive again and once Louis' drink is in his hand, he swallows it down like he's been craving water since he arrived.
"Yeah well then maybe you shouldn't have judged me before you got to know me" I huff and look away for a second.
"You were the one who had asked me" His smile grows wider and I can tell by now that I'm not going win this argument. I'm not even sure what we were arguing about in the first place.
"You did too" I groan like a child and look away from his eyes.
All this talking with Louis had made me forget where I was. I'm surprised I had heard him over the ear-blasting music.
"Hey!" Louis turns around and looks back at Harry who had screamed at his ear. "What have you two been up to?" He asks mischievously. I look at Vanessa and she has that look that gets me worried. I know she's going to want to ask about this later.
After a moment Louis responds but Harry doesn't pay attention. His expression changes and suddenly my heart begins to race. My hands are getting sweaty around my drink. I can only imagine how my expression looks like by the change of look Vanessa has. I can see Harry's jaw tense and realize he's staring right behind me. His fist clenched, and his eyes have darken. My heart beat picks up faster. I need a drink and vodka isn't going to help it.
"Maisie are you okay?" Louis asks.
"I need to take her to the bathroom" Vanessa panics and grabs my hand. She pulls me off my seat and before I leave I turn around to look at what Harry is staring at. It's the same guy who had rudely pushed me out of the way at the bar. He's not alone. He's with a girl and they're making their way towards Harry and Louis.
