~Carlo's POV~
"Why do you torture them? Just pick someone to take to Cotillion already." I said to Jay curiously on our walk to class the following morning.

Jay shrugged." I'm going solo. That way, I can dance with all of them."

"Ah! You're the expert. Um, Jay..if you were gonna ask someone, what's the best way to go?" I asked. I had been wanting to ask Jane but wasn't really sure how. If anyone would have a good solid plan, it would surely be Jay, or so I thought.

"Listen, all you gotta do..is look like me," Jay answered.

"I don't want you to look like a dork, though," Mal said.

Millie rolled her eyes at Jay and Mal's commentary. "Good luck. Don't listen to them. You've got this. Just be yourself."

"Thanks, Mills." Slowly, I continued walking away with Jay, Evie, and Mal for a moment. Before noticing Millie had slipped away to talk to Jane. The three continued ahead; as I took a seat nearby, pretending not to listen to the duo's conversation. "Millie," Jane said, running over to her.

Though Jay had been absolutely no help, this was the time to do it, if any. Once Millie and Jane were done chatting, I worked up the courage to walk over there." Hey Jane. I was wondering..uh..if you liked the..carrot cake last night."

Jane smiled, tucking the clipboard under her arm and looking up to me. "Actually, I had the pumpkin pie."

Who knows where Evie and Mal had run off to, but Jay came back this way, right at that very moment." Smooth."

But then Evie was there too. "I have an opening for a fitting at 3:00. Who wants it?" She asked, with Lonnie leaping at the seams for the open spot." Perfect, I'll take you later." Evie said to Millie.

~Millie's POV~
"Millie?" I heard the sound of Jane's voice call, and I slid closer to her. "I hate to keep bugging you, but the decorating committee needs more answers. So, as much as I hate to, um..you know, um.."

"Bug me?" I finished, and Jane nodded." I would love to. I just have to get to class."

"Okay! Okay! Just one quick thing. Just nod if you like it. Chair swags. Entry banner. Twinkle lights. Napkin design. Table bunting. And you still haven't picked the party favors yet."

I thought for a moment, then silently shrugged. "Honestly, Jane, whatever you think." I started, but Jane started again before I could finish my thought.

"I mean; we can do chains, key charms, pen toppers. I kind of love the pen toppers, but, I mean, we can do all three."

Suddenly my eyes flashed a lime green for a moment. Breathing, I regained my composure and restored my eyes to their natural emerald green color. "I say pen toppers. Yeah."

"You won't regret it," Jane exclaimed.

Lonnie spotted us and ran over to us. "I can hardly wait to see what your wedding will look like!"

My mind was running wild. So much so that I didn't truly catch onto that comment until seconds later." Me too. Wait! What?"

"The Royal Cotillion is like getting engaged; to be engaged, to be engaged," Jane added.

Mal came up suddenly, hugging me and scaring the living daylight out of me when she spoke up. "I knew it!"
