Alex

I didn't know what to expect when I came to Cassidy's place.

I didn't even know what I felt when Cassidy texted me her address and sent me a picture of their house the other night.

She told me to come by anytime, and by that, I was guessing might be after I finish school for the day.

It had been a week since she sent me her address, and I still haven't went over.

What was I scared of?

I know I wasn't scared of Cassidy. She was the one who invited me.

Was it the idea of possibly meeting her parents?

She mentioned they were a bit busy especially in the afternoons, and her mother is always home during the weekend, but if I time it right, maybe I wouldn't catch her mom and her dad at the same time.

Cassidy has brothers too but, I think they're nice. Well, since the one I met already is, and I assume the others are probably the same. Hopefully.

Seriously, what had been stopping me?

After finishing up my final math test for the day, I quickly finished up with school and rode the bus to her address.

I know I don't usually ride public transport because of money constraints, but I had slightly more than enough allowance now after my sister, Bella, got a new, higher-paying job.

Maybe I could use the extra allowance I have to come by Cassidy's place during the summer. I wasn't really close with anyone at school aside from her, and I think Cassidy might want an actual person to make up excuses for her whenever she decides to suddenly go on one of her little field trips.

This was going to be okay. I am okay.

Cassidy trusts me enough that she gave me her address and invited me over. Meeting any other member of her family was not part of the initial deal, and she never said anything about formally introducing me. I wasn't her boyfriend. Just a friend.

Who really likes her.

God, being so self-aware is starting to get annoying. I hate remembering the fact that I have a crush on her every now and then.

At least this was better than convincing myself I wasn't in love with her or something. This was a plus.

I have a crush on her. Cassidy is, Cassidy. She's fun to be around with and is just bursting with energy and determination. She's probably the only one who doesn't get tired of talking to me since people usually ignore me after the first conversation.

Somehow, she balances me out. She got me a bit out of my shell, and look at me.

I'm riding a bus.

I don't spend money unless necessary, and this?

This was vital.

I eventually found her house as soon as I came around their neighborhood. It wasn't that hard finding it anyway since it had been near the entrance to their neighborhood.

Without even thinking, I rang their doorbell, and almost immediately, a guy with Cassidy's same fiery auburn hair welcomed me.

I was so startled at how quickly he opened the front door, I staggered behind a bit.

"And who the fuck are you?" He told me with his brows furrowed together.

My chest beat hard from the intimidation this guy has.
