Into The Past

Part 2

They all were waiting for Kartik to open his eyes....with each passing second they getting weaker and weaker but all they could do was to pray for the best......for him to be alright.

After sometime,

Sara and Emma were there with Kartik while John was consulting to the doctors regarding Kartik's treatement, George and Charles were trying to know who was behind all this......

Suddenly Emma noticed slight movement of Kartik's finger and she immediately asked Sara to look at him, they both saw that Kartik was slowly gaining consciousness, he was slowly opening his eyes.....

They happily called everyone there.....all were happy to see him opening his eyes.....but what came next, shocked all of them to the core......

Kartik's POV

I opened my eyes only to be blinded by the bright light..... I slowly tried opening my eyes to see a clearer view of the blurry shadows near me...... My whole body was paining like hell, but still I tried to move my head and see the people standing near me.......

I looked at them and then my surroundings...... nothing seemed to be familiar, I tried thinking about what happened with me, what I was doing there, what was this place, who are the people surrounding me and the question that hit me hard was..... WHO AM I?

I didn't remember anything..... neither my name, my identity nor the identities of the ones standing near me..... I felt lost, I started panicking....... The ones around me seemed to notice it and that is when they asked me....

'Kartik are u alright?' , one of the girls asked politely....

'Are u feeling any pain?', came another one from a man with genuine concern in his voice.....

'Who r u? What am I doing here? What place is this? And who am I? I .....I ...... don't know anything!!!..... What's happening, pls someone tell me!!' , I threw a bunch questions at them.... everything that came in my mind, getting even more panicked.....

This clearly came as shock to all of them..... It was clearly visible on their faces as their eyes widened and their mouth flung open after listening to me......

Just then the doctor intervened in the conversation and asked me to calm down and that I will be told everything but after a while..... He asked me if I was feeling any pain to which I nodded and then he gave me some pain killers while I was staring blankly at the white ceiling of the room being all confused and trying hard to remember everything...... Soon I drifted into a sleep due to the effect of the sedations.....

The doctor asked his friends to follow him into his cabin, as they grabbed their seats, they bombarded him with a plenty of questions about whatever happened just now.....

D: Calm down pls.....

J: But how doctor? U heard what he said right...... He doesn't remember anything..... How is this possible? And can't anything be done? Can't we help him somehow to bring his memory back?

D: See.... In that accident the patient had hit his head hard on the ground and this might be the reason for his memory loss....this happens sometimes....and it's not like he will never regain his memory.... He might gain his memory back.... Just give him some time and rest....

G: Doctor r there chances that he might not remember anything?

D: That can happen but in many cases the patient gets his or her memory back.... Just talk to him about his past, try to make him remember his past but make sure that he doesn't take any stress.... And as of now, I am recommending some tests, just get these done as soon as possible....

They got the tests done and then Sara and Emma were told to go home while John, George and Charles stayed back with Kartik in the hospital.....
