HEY,
Long time no see! I know I've been hinting a bit at backstory and other things regarding Gladiator and other characters. I really wanted to put out my lore for them, but there will never be a good spot for Gladiator's, and possibly others.
Therefore, I've decided to make a little subplot story. This will just go over backstories and other things to better understand your favorite characters more- thanks!
If there's anyone in particular you'd like to read about next, let me know!
Slight gore warning for some parts, if you are uncomfortable with that.

In the past..
Before all of the fighting. All of the dishonesty.
It was like any other day. The smell of gunpowder and burnt rubber smothered the air. Even then, things weren't ideal. They never really were, anyways.
Gladiator awoke in a groggy, hazy, state. Though, back then, he wasn't called Gladiator. Theo. That's what most people called him back then, anyways.
Some of his bunkmates shuffled about slowly, making their way out the door, ready to begin the day.
Morning training was always so boring. Every day it was just rinse and repeat. Everyone always questioned why they weren't being pushed to the front lines, with all of the riots.
It was just the beginning of the apocalypse, when things began to heat up. And things were heating up fast. Everyday police were being overwhelmed with the sheer amount of people becoming infected or rioting.
Nobody could even agree on where the stupid virus came from. It was strange, and new. And people couldn't keep a handle on it, angry at the governments control over it.
That's the only way Gladiator knew about it anymore. He wasn't a citizen, but a soldier. He had signed up right after the first signs of hostility arose. That was really the only way he could make a difference at that point, it's not like the government listened.
It was an interesting predicament, that's for sure.
Anyway.
Gladiator woke up in a haze. It was like this every morning.
He put on his uniform and hurried outside for training. Crisp air snapped at his face, but he paid no attention to it.
The sun was just beginning to peek over the treeline, splashing brilliant crimsons and deep purples throughout the sky. Birds chirped, nesting in the trees around base.
Gladiator was usually one of the first to arrive, but today, he must have waken up a tad bit late, because most of his troop had already gathered.
"Mornin' Theo." His closest friend, Marcus, greeted him with a smile. They had only been friends for a few months, but it was the best Gladiator had. "Ready to make today special?"
"Pfff- like I ever could. This place doesn't change, stop pulling my leg." Gladiator smiled sarcastically. Gladiator had met Marcus when he was transferred to the base he was currently stationed at, just because he had an extra stick of deodorant with him. Marcus took Gladiator under his wing, and acted as a brother to him. He could tell that Marcus felt the same of him.
"Gosh, you're such a pessimist. Brighten up for once, maybe something will happen." Marcus had deep, coffee colored hair that floofed out slightly, no matter how short it was cut. On a good day, his smile could blind.
