Mizore awoke the next morning in her extremely messy bed. Today was her first day at Anime Con. Excited to meet her few fans, Mizore's anxiety only grew because she was also going to meet Altheos, the boy she had been talking to online for the past few months.
"Mizore? There's kimchi fried rice and plantains on the counter. Axel and I are going down by the shore to buy some more food for tonight," Rin announced pressed against the other side of the door, "And by the way... Taurus is doing fine, he'd like to talk with you."
Mizore slowly slid out of her bed and put her long blue hair into a messy top knot.
"I'm coming," Mizore replied, yawning.
She opened her blinds to the view of a clear sky and bird flying overhead.
As Axel and Rin left, Vincent and Taurus were left in the kitchen washing the dishes and cleaning up after everyone else.
"Good morning, Mizore. I didn't expect you to wake up so late," Taurus explained.
"Well... I have been pretty stressed because of Anime Con..." Mizore sighed, reaching for a bottle of room temperature water.
"I... Well, we wanted to ask... Would you be okay with us leaving the convention early to explore the woods?" Vincent asked, drying off the clean dishes.
"No? Wait, you don't mean Rin and Axel too, do you?" Mizore asked.
Taurus and Vincent slowly glanced at each other and back to Mizore, tilting their heads.
"This was supposed to be a vacation remember?"
"Mizore, you were hesitant on even coming in the first place..." Vincent clarified.
"To be fair, I was coming to this convention regardless. Being with everyone now made me glad I came. And weren't we all hesitant?" Mizore retaliated back.
Vincent sighed and continued drying the dishes.
"Fine then, we won't leave early," Taurus explained, walking away.
Mizore stared at her older brother walking into the dimly lit hallway.
"We all obviously want to have a good time. It's just we ultimately came here to work... we just need to prioritize our work, you know?" Vincent tried to reason with Mizore.
"All we do is work. Can't we have at least one day off?" Mizore argued.
"The world is everchanging. Last time I checked, we're not exactly the type of people who get breaks," Vincent argued, aggressively wiping a plate with a towel.
"We're still human! How many times do I have to say I didn't ask for this," Mizore yelled.
Vincent rolled his eyes, "Okay then, just go have fun at your convention. We'll do our jobs whether we like it or not since we're responsible."
"Responsible? Are you saying I'm not responsible?"
"Clearly not since all you want to do is sit around all day," Vincent insulted Mizore, unintentionally snapping the plate he was drying in half.
Mizore gasped at the breaking sound, staring at Vincent.
"You've turned into such an asshole... what's wrong with you," Mizore ran away.
Vincent sighed and threw the two pieces into the trash, shattering them even more.
Axel and Rin visited many shops and the shoreside farmer's market to buy groceries for the next few days they would be staying in town.
"Do you want to visit the pier? They have a boba place towards the end and an ice cream parlor as well," Axel explained, carrying all of the grocery bags.
