-Y/n's POV-
It's the weekend, and the house feels quiet—my brothers are either out with friends or busy working, so I'm home alone. Honestly, I don't mind at all. It means I can do whatever I want, as long as I keep the place tidy and don't break anything.
Whenever I have the house to myself, I love nothing more than pulling out the guitar Jin Oppa gave me for my sixteenth birthday and having my own little jam session. I've always admired how effortlessly my brothers show off their talents. They're confident, and that's something I envy. I'm just too shy to play around them — it feels like I'm always under a microscope.
Now that all the chores are done, I head to my room, grab the guitar, and flop onto my bed. I pull up some tutorials on my phone, searching for Sam Smith's Make It To Me—it's been stuck in my head for days. After a few tries, I start to get the hang of the chords, and soon enough, I'm singing softly along.
"You're the one, designed for me... a distant stranger, that I will complete..."
The music fills the room, and for a moment, everything else just fades away.
- End of Y/N's POV -
-Yoongi's POV-
Work was dragging, so I decided to come home early—needed some peace. As I step inside, I call out, "I'm home!" but there's no answer. Strange—Y/n should be here.
I call out again, louder this time, "Y/n? You home?" Still nothing. Curiosity gets the better of me, so I make my way to her room. I pause outside the door when I hear the soft strumming of guitar strings, followed by her voice.
"You're the one, designed for me... a distant stranger, that I will complete..."
Her voice is gentle, tentative, but surprisingly good. It's the first time I've actually heard her sing, and I can't help but smile. She's always been talented with instruments, but she's so shy about it—especially around us.
I stand there, quietly soaking it all in. When the song ends, I knock gently on the door.
"Oppa?" Her voice sounds startled, nervous.
"I just got home," I say, stepping inside slowly. She's sitting on her bed, clutching the guitar like it's a lifeline. Her cheeks are flushed, and she avoids meeting my eyes.
"Did you... hear me?" she asks, biting her lip.
I nod, a warm smile spreading across my face. "Yeah. You sounded amazing."
Her eyes flicker up to meet mine, surprise mixing with a hint of relief.
"You should sing more often," I tell her, genuine. "Don't be shy. You have a gift."
She blushes deeper, a shy smile breaking through. "Maybe... someday."
I pull up a chair and sit down beside her. "How about I keep you company next time you play? We can jam together."
Her eyes widen slightly, then soften. "I'd like that."
For the first time in a while, the silence between us feels warm and easy.
