Erik's Pov
Nadir began to place two cups down before I sat on the chair. Warmth and little steam comes off the cup.
My hands intertwined with one another, and my head looking down at the dark wooden floors.
"Here you go," Nadir says in a cooling tone. His face was always serious.
Dark brown eyes were staring back and a curled mustache on his upper lip how they judge me.
I know Nadir never fully trusts me and I him, but I know for whatever reason, he gives some solid advice.
I looked back up and picked up the cup. Peering in, I see the tea where the reflection of the water stares back at me. But All i could see was her face and how she looked so scared.
As If a whole other lifetime was in her eyes pouring out before me.
Was it I that had caused her that fear or another?
No, of course, it was me. I grabbed her by force.
She had confided in me how so many men had tried to take advantage of her, and there I went breaking her trust doing the same thing that those men had done to her.
This whole situation was a misunderstanding from the start.
Yet when she had seen my face, she did not wince or scream but brushed it gently. Instead, her eyes looked in pain. And the way she had called me not a monster but a man.
A stupid man does not know how to tell her that he does not love her sister. A stupid man I am.
I could not deny that her sister had pulled me in, but it was only a mere second. Maybe it was because she looked so similar to Delphine I thought it was almost her.
"Now, what is the problem with you, friend now," he says as he puts his cup close to his mouth, sitting on a chair opposite of me.
Nadir has always helped me out in some bad times well because he had to. Still, I consulted with him more and more these past years since I have met Delphine.
We have gotten closer not as friends but as past warriors telling each other the story of our wounds.
I look up slightly, shaking my head. "Well, I had been going on my nightly stroll on the roof, hoping I could bump accidentally into Delphine. But, as you know, every time I try to talk to her, another gets in the way."
Nadir nods slightly.
"When I looked for her, she was being harassed by some strange man who seemed to know her well," I say.
"An ex-lover," Nadir said plainly.
I shake my head, "No, she has no ex-lovers!"
"How do you know," Nadir asked, his eyes staring at me."
I look back at him in a firm voice, "She told me."
"Continue," he says.
My thoughts began to analyze everything as I began to talk, "Well, this man tries to pull her arm, forcing himself onto her, almost begging to talk to her. She, of course, was not having it."
My blood began to boil, remembering the man how he had mishandled her and forced her. However, I was no different from him, and I had done the very same to Delphine.
"I, of course, took his hand off of Delphine, and she seemed so happy to see me there."
Nadir's eyes widened, "But the man saw you; what did you do? Did you kill him?"
