I was back at the campfire. I stared at the endless sky pondering what just happened. I feel betrayed. Why does it hurt so bad? Why is it that she did that to me but I still have feelings for her?
My cheeks turned red and I quickly slap my face. Dammit. I feel a soft tap on my shoulder and flinch.
I see a man wearing classes with short brown hair. A nervous smile adorned his face. "I'm, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, to startle you." He rubs his left arm with his right. "I just heard there was a new survivor. I thought I should introduce myself."
I pat the spot on the log next to me and he seats with himself, letting out a sigh. "Nice to meet you. I'm Dwight."
"Jake."
"We never saw each other. But, I was in the previous match with you." He looked at me and smiles. "You lasted a long time by yourself in that match. You must be pretty good. It's a shame you didn't find hatch though." Dwight bites his lip. "The match made me nervous so I hid in lockers most of the time. The Huntress even pulled me out of one."
"I'm not that good. It's not what you think." I nervously pull my hair behind my ear.
"I'm sure you must have-"
Everything goes black and suddenly I'm in another match. I wonder if the killer is Huntress?
I sat on a gen for awhile, not hearing anything. I looked around to scope out the area. I realized The Huntress was staring at me. Has she been staring at me this entire time? Why isn't my heart beating? I continue to work and pretend like I don't see her.
I finish the gen and go search for another one. I hear shuffling behind me from The Huntress but I ignore it and keep going.
I hop on a gen with David, I think that is his name. "Hey-"
Suddenly, The Huntress comes out from the trees and snatches David off of the generator. "David! David! Ah fu*k!" I led her straight to him. Did he not hear the heartbeat either?
David is quickly put onto a hook and The Huntress comes right back to me. She just watches me. That's it. Why?
Fu*k it I'm going for the save. I hop off the gen and run for David. I quickly take him off the hook as The Huntress approaches. She completely ignores me and tunnels David. What the hell?!
I swiftly get in behind David to block her from hitting him. We continue this cycle until the huntress gives up. David got away that's all that matters. She might be mad though.
I look back at her to see her reaction. As I turn my head she grabs me by the neck and lifts me into the air. I frantically swing my arms and hit her arm, gasping for air. "Hun-huntress!"
A smirk develops on her face and she drops me onto the ground. "Anna." She says a name as she leans over me.
"Anna? Is that your name?"
She nods and just as I'm about to say something she puts her finger on my lips to shush me. She then walks away. Huh?
I continued my work. Doing gens, cleansing totems, unhooking survivors, healing them, etc.
Eventually, there was nothing I could do. We had one generator left and Anna had hooked everyone until they were dead. Dammit! I dropped to all fours and pound the ground.
Tears escape my eyes. They didn't have to die. This isn't fair.
I feel a touch from behind me. Anna kneels down and puts her arm on my back. "Don't be sad. You have me." She smiles and pulls me into her arms. She strokes my wet face and laughs at my puffy red eyes. "There is no need for tears.""I'm next right?"
"..?"
"You're going to kill me."
"I like you."
"What do you mean?"
"Join me at the lodge."
