She lingers a few feet away from the door, hands slung into the pockets of the sleeping shorts she wore. Her gaze dips down to the carpet, cheeks and nose grazed with a rosy pink as she rocks back and forth on the balls of her feet.
Teal hues narrow, his nearing form causing her heart rate to pick up and then stop, when the pad of his thumb grazes across the side of her forehead, right over flesh that was brimming between blue and black.
"What happened?" voice low, beast lingering to break across his skin, but he makes sure his tone is warm for her ears, not wanting to frighten the small female.
Ember's mouth parts to speak, head thinking and features slowly becoming sheepish.
"Um," it's drawled out, a tint of embarrassment sweeping over her eyes.
The male only waits, posture large and broad, a silent demand rolling off of him. Teal hues are intense, filled with different depths of blues. She swallows, teeth sinking into her bottom lip.
"Well-," a hand rubbing the name of her neck awkwardly. The lycan still waits, feeling the bruised, tender skin of her forehead and watching her wince when the pressure is too much. His hand drops back to his side.
"I tripped and fell. Onto the floor," she doesn't look pleased with having to admit it, and Mekhi just stands with his arms folded, wondering just how hard she had to hit the floor, to have such a bruise like that.
He mindlinks Alden about it, but all he's received with is the general's uproarious laughter at the mere mention of it. He rolls his eyes, cutting of the link and turning his attention back to the wolf.
"You should be more careful," watching her turn, picking up some sweaters and other things draped onto the floor, piling them into a hamper.
"It wasn't my fault," she mutters underneath her breath. The male arches a brow, taking a seat into one of the peach couches she had in her room, long arms outstretched onto the headrest.
"No?" it's disbelief, teal still stuck on her, watching her remake the bed she was about to head into. She shakes her head.
"Nu uh. It was the air," she doesn't meet his eyes. He chuckles, sound low and wispy, too quiet for her to hear.
She bounds towards where he was sitting, sitting at the opposite end of the couch and nuzzling into the couch, a large and fluffy white pillow pulled over her bare legs.
"The Council called me earlier today," teal focused on the suede pink couch, a finger tracing into it.
He flickers his attention up to her, finding her own focus straying away to nothing. Her skin has flushed from it's rosy hue that she always acquired around him. No words fall from her.
"They set your trial for next week. They've orchestrated it so it seems the severing of the bond you had with the beta, was your fault only. They wish to trial you against him," his words are quiet, calm.
No emotion comes over her face, her skin growing pale and cold, wolf within her not letting her lapse and freak out. Her eyes dip down to her lap, nimble fingers playing with the fluff of the cushion.
A deep sigh comes from the male, who works up the nerve to say it.
"I need to mark you," it comes out blunt, but it's the only way he's able to say it.
